Ditto on that issue. Didn't have that trouble with VZN 2.1. Also experienced it on |||bored|||'s stripped hooker ROM...and I think they were using a lot of the same files, so probably an issue somewhere in there.

I use ShutXP soft reset more than I actually power off the device, so I keep that on. Would be nice for it to work again though :-)

Would it still allow you to soft reset the device? I have not had any issues with ShutXP.

I didn't have any trouble with ShutXP doing soft reset...just talking about the actual shut down command not working in ShutXP or with the default long power press....I quoted the wrong post.

In the VZN ROM, power hold worked to shut it off as well as the power off button in ShutXP. But on SSK and bored's ROM, it does not...maybe a bug with some newer files they are using CE OS build or something..I don't know.

Probably that site uses a different HTML IMG tag. did you try to just copy the raw link to the image and use that sites tool to include that image in your sig?

If you tell me which forum i may be able to help you... i know i've seen you on a few other boards, stang! ;-)

yeah, i really like psShutXP... i just would like the "Shut Off" button to do just that... shut it off. Been lookin through the reg to find something... nothing so far, but i'm sure we can figure it out.

EDIT: and by the "Shut Off" button... i mean the one in psShutXP, next to the "Soft Reset" button. not the actual phones power button, i like that mapped to psShutXP. (just re-read that and realized it sounded funny)

Ah I see...anyway here is what I have experienced:

On any ROM, pressing without holding the power key will turn the screen off like it should, no problems there.

On the VZNav roms (didn't use 3.0, prior versions) Everything worked fine. Default behavior was hold power for Windows prompt to shut off, it worked. Installing ShutXP and using that power off method worked.

SSK and Bored ROMs:

Default, (no ShutXP), hold power button, nothing happens ever unless I install that CAB or ShutXP.

With ShutXP, holding the power button causes ShutXP to come up like it should. Pressing Power Off causes the screen to turn off, not the device. Soft Reset and all other ShutXP fuctions work fine.

My point is I think Bored and Scott shared a lot of the same base files (SYS XIP whatever I don't know enough about the details) and there is probably some common issue there...maybe it's a CE OS bug with that newer build, I don't know. Just offering what I have experienced.

OK Guys... here is a link to an updated CAB for psShutXP that DOES in fact shut the phone off when the "Turn Off" button is pressed.

It does say Diamond on it, but i can confirm that it works just fine on the TP.

LINK-REMOVED

EDIT: I take that back... not sure what i did, but the first time i tried it, it did shut the phone off... i then replaced the .gif for the one out of the OEM without the "Diamond" verbage on it. Since then, it has not shut the phone off completely, just soft resets. I dont see how those two things can be related, i can only guess that when it reset the phone and thought it powered off... i was just to quick to manually turn it back on.

Sorry about that guys, i would not install it.

EDIT: OK, i am even taking the link down for a bit until i figure out what i did... not at all sure it was this newer shutXP, but a combination of things i have done here in the last 20 min has completely hosed my TF3D... so until i can positively say it was not that cab i'm removing the link.

I think that I can confirm what you are saying. With the ShutXP, when you hit "OFF", it just goes to "sleep" and not off because a "quick top on the POWER ON button brings the screen to life. If I remember correctly, if it was truly "OFF", you need to hold it for about 5 sec before it comes back on. Additionally, I had BATTLOG (current draw measurement) running, and when the screen came alive again, I could see that the current had never dropped to Zero. It continued to draw current, even when it should have been off (and it also should have shut down that program). An even more definitive test was I tried calling the phone (when it should have been totally off) and it "awoke" and rang. So the SHUTXP off is definitely not working....just lets it take a nap.

Edit: I'm using the Nav 3.0 ROM

I beat you to it....Unfortunately, I can't even get it to install on my 3.0 ROM. I get the message that I don't have the right permissions. Any idea what that could be....I even did a soft reset and re-tried
