Hey, has anyone using Sprint tried this ROM?

Impressions?

I could have sworn I saw someone with a sig stating that they were running SSK 1.2 on Sprint but can't find it anywhere...

I can't even get in the program. The install goes fine but when its done and asks if you wish to start it shows the garmin splash screen then gives an error "Read Access Violation" and closes. I've even tried installing from a seperate computer.

All other GPS stuff works, Google, Live and HTC...

ACK..... I just found out that I'm having issues with MMS... three times in a row I send an MMS, and after it is sent (which works fine), I can no longer open the messaging app at all. To get it working again I either have to soft reset or open dotFred task manager and stop the running poutlook process. Anyone else having this issue? I believe picture messaging worked fine on VZN 3.0.

Hmmm, same here--just tried. Actually, after about 60 seconds it "unfreezes." Running 1.2 Deluxe with minimal additions/mods.

So I found some interesting goodies...

This is something Scott may actually want to include in the ROM, or at least SSKOnline! It's the slide to answer ripped from the Touch HD I think. I figured the slide would be nice since I sometimes bump it taking it out of the hoslter. Has a call curtian too which blocks the buttons when talking, which is also kind of nice.

Here is the cool part and the reason why I think Scott may want to include it: It saves prescious RAM! Only 2MB, but every bit helps. When I downloaded it originally it mentioned compressed textures saving 2MB of space. Wasn't sure what exactly that was in comparison to.

So I decided to test it. I reflashed to a pretty stripped down kitchen, no TF3D or anything. Hard reset and then soft reset after flash, and check memory. 63.19 MB free. So I install Slide to Answer, soft reset. 65.12MB free.

I was pleasantly suprised....I have always been annoyed that the HTC Dialer took 9+MB of RAM and was required to make the call volume work. Now I have a way to cut 2MB off that...and it looks good too! Here is (I think) the original thread that I found it in:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=53977

But I attached the CAB I used just to be safe.

Also, I found a WORKING version of PsShutXP! Shut Down works fine:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=49603

Just updated it yesterday it looks like....make sure to download the 2nd one that says Diamond.

I also have been playing with Manila from the touch HD....a version I played with earlier was very fast (faster than the VZ themes here), and it has the new tabs like stocks. The one I have now is kinda clunky, going to mess with it some more. The biggest problem is getting it started, it's kinda buggy there, otherwise it's great  I'll report back when I figure out more.

Hey Scott & other Gurus. I had a quick question about a feature in your kitchen. First off, i love the builds you have been producing. I am actually on my 2nd TP from VZW as my center button ended up breaking. So I have just unlocked and "cooked" myself a rom with your kitchen. I added the VOIP option under the assumption it somehow uses the data connection to make/recieve phone calls when you don't have service?? (i have a networking background please pardon my assumptions if they aren't true). Am I doing wishful thinking or is there a way anyone knows of to set this up? Or does it do nothing of the sort?

Thanks for all your hard work. You have made it really easy, for me at least, to get a much better ROM to use my phone (even though it's like special olympics without the 192 mem sprint has).

I swear to god I was going to put that up and some other stuff that I like... Just have not had the time....

Im gonna blow the site up this weekend. I figure dout hwo to use some better apps to make the site more pretty..... Cant stand that god forsaken Yahoo Site Builder! Thats the only reason I have not done anything better.

Can someone PM me how I can add a hit counter on my mobile site? The reason I ask is because Yahoo makes it so easy on the app I have. But the other apps like Microsoft expression doesnt do that?!?!? Anyways, PM me if you can recomend a good app that is super simple to use and has the abiulity to create mobile versions of pages. I dont want to spend all my time using a web app. Just want to cook roms baby!

Anyone? No clue here.

Ok, I thought I saw that too!!! Wow, Ok... Hmmm....

will have to look at that more closely on next rev....

BTW: taking suggestions for next REV.

What do you all want added to the kit? OEM's, not gonna d a lot of them as it detracts from the simplified approach.

I will however make splash screens selectabel
and today screens selectable.

Anything else you want me to carve out and make selectable?

Also, trying to figure out a way to eaasy integrate BOOT SCREENS as well. That would be further down the road though.... BUT very very doable.

Then I will move on to integrating all this in the PPCK! GUGURU is gonna help with that. So that will be a big stepping stone for me.
