I'm going to skip on this update, I don't want to reinstall all my software every week.

BTW, thanks for the Voice Commander voice on arrival hack.

My phone also locked up while charging last night. In addition, I am also experiencing the ringtone/sounds problem.

I am thinking of flashing back to Copper. I didnt experience these issues in Copper.

I downloaded the new rom about 11pm last night.. Flashed it. Everything seemed to work. I fired off a quick text message to make sure the weird character issue was fixed.. It was. I went to bed and the phone shut itself off after 5 minutes. I wake up thismorning. I installed Arcsoft cab and my other regular stuff. My daughter text messages me to come pick her up from her friends.

NO SOUNDS. No ringtones. I can select any sound but nothing will play. And when you select a ringtone to play you can see the screen quickly flash through all the ringtones until it comes back to the one you had selected and the little system working graphic just goes and goes. The damn ringtone thing is back.

I am very frustrated now.. Nothing will make a sound. nothing. and no vibrations either.

And its doing the same exact thing from the original MR5 release.. After a soft reset they work again. It seems when the phone is hinbernating a long time this thing happens.

I really don't want to flash back to MR 4.16..

I'm going to try one last experiment. I'm setting the device so it never shuts off and hibernates. I will set it so the screen just dims and see if the ringtone thing comes back..
I flashed the latest at 8:00 EST. My sounds are working fine this am, test text worked fine- no garbled and sound worked. After reading your post I went to sounds and notifications- everything fine, able to listen and change.

I hope it continues to work and I feel a little guilty...but I AM LOVING THIS MR5

I did have the notifications/sound issue with 4-21 and the text issue with the first 4-25

Figures, I just unlocked my phone, updated the radio, and now I want to flash it for the 1st time, and the link to DL MR5 is apparently dead. Is there a mirror?

Welcome to the public beta, all. Closed testing didn't shake out all the bugs, so be sure to be complete in reporting your config/installed extras when you post a bug.

Have to agree with a previous poster too - would have been better to notch the ROM version a digit to distinguish the 25Apr09 morning release from the evening release. (aka hotfix 1 & 2?)

I went back to 4.16. I really like WM 6.5, but there are way too many bugs in this stage, and I like having a stable ROM.

I did the same thing this morning. I also use MS3 so the need for 6.5 wasn't as strong for me. I applaud Mike for all the effort he has put into MR5, and with a little more work I think it could be the best Rom he has out out. So far though, 4.16 is as close to perfection as I could have hoped for. It is ultra stable with little or no bugs. 4.16+MS3=

Lordshawdow, is the sound issue only on MR5??

I believe you might want to downgrade to 4.16, till its safe for you...

Or you might want to get new TP.

Its odd,its only your phone giving yo the most grief....

I jacked up the titanium menu on the 1st Update from yesterday using showaco's editor.. this morning I downloaded the 2nd update from yesterday and installed EVERY cab I have, without restarting when it said to.. and still no issues. I can change sounds and I dont have any garbled text. I love this thing, it is WAY better than MR 4.16 IMHO. MR5 has ALL the latest bells and whistles. For those thinking about going back to 4.16, I would re-consider.

It is not just his phone......I tried a couple of 6.5 roms and cooked one and the issue came up after a period of time on all of them....I just flashed to MR5 last night and all is well as of know.....we shall see though....
