Re: [ May 4 \ 21043(6.1) & 21502(6.5) v1.7 RC ] Calkulin's Kitchen v1.6 & ROMs

Been using the 1.7 502 rom I flashed for the last 2 days and it is very solid. no TF#D and no menu or notification enhancement only large title bar and MS3. Not using a 6.5 theme as the menus are really not much more finger friendly than the original menus, if anything they are more inefficient because of the lack of most common elements on top. Original the most used were on the bottom os there was less stylus travel between clicks, but now being on the bottom means having to scroll to the bottom, sort of retarded if you ask me. HTC enhancement is actually better but is just a little too buggy.

Overall this config for me has been the fastest and most solid yet. Only issue so far is occasionally the home screen wont come to the front. So I cycle the dialer in and out then it comes back most of the time or soon enough so i dont need to soft reset.

i personally think the battery saving cab doesnt do much help in saving battery life. All the cab does is change a few setting on the gsensor, and blacklight brightness.

I believe you it may not be much help for you... But believe me too, it is a lot of help for me... In my case the difference is humongous... Before the cab the phone is drawing around 300 - 500 mA at all times, which is just crazy... After the cab, it goes to the regular 13 - 150 mA tops of course both cases with nothing else running. I can feel the drainage and actually see it, before the cab.

The issue is not what the cab changes, we all can see that, the issue is what it does to battery life, for some of us at least.

300 - 500 mA thats a lot of power output. my tp draws at a normal state at 40-50 mA

Yes it is... Mine (after the cab) is draining 57 mA with the screen on, 57 mA with the screen dimmed, and 13 mA with the phone off.

I don't understand why the consumption is the same when the screen is on and dimmed though.

OS.nb.payload lives in ROM folder; not sure if it's case sensitive or why you have a "-new" appended to the file above: did you rename it to keep from over-writing old one? You must replace the folders and not touch ANY files in them. I simply rename my SYS to SYS.21xxx and ROM to ROM.21xxx.

Try that and see if it works; I'm at a lose otherwise.

OS-new.nb.payload is built by the kitchen once its cooking, and then written into .nbh format.
This can be caused by several things
One is if you have a corrupted ROM, Sys folder, or a bad oem folder.

another thing is if your missing any of the tools from the tool folder, so if you havent changed any of the tools in there, then check and make sure you didnt remove any required files from the sys folder like the OS folder or any of the Redist folders.
