Re: [ May 4 \ 21043(6.1) & 21502(6.5) v1.7 RC ] Calkulin's Kitchen v1.6 & ROMs

How come sometimes I lose my "Excuse me boss you have a message" and "You've got message" sounds...

Is anybody else experiencing that? If I go to sounds and notifications both sounds are reset to alarm01... If I try to change them back they just don't show up on the drop down menu; however, they do show for incoming call. The sounds are both in /windows and /windows/rings.

yeppers, I reported it several pages back.

further research indicates this is the notorious "no ring" bug in 6.5,...

it's fine, as long as you don't go into sounds and notifications.

and it's a file format error - .wma item.

You know I noticed this too, i thought it was just me, so i ignored it. My issue was 'you got message' was irritating everyone else in the office and there was no way to shut it off. I went to look at the tone and it showed alarm so i assumed it was messed up. I didnt want to change the ringers or anything else because It was 'all in all' working very good elsewise.

Hehe, it is extremely annoying because when this happened to me before all I had to do was to move the two sounds from /windows/rings to /windows and they would show up in the menu, now they're already in both places but they don't show up.

And I need to go into sounds and modifications, I like choosing my own ring for incoming calls.

Ok I moved the files from /windows/rings to /windows even though they were already there and now they show up.

That system of having the rings in two places is retarded... Corky Microsoft...

I can feel the drainage and actually see it, before the cab.

The issue is not what the cab changes, we all can see that, the issue is what it does to battery life, for some of us at least.
You are talking about the discharge current I assume?

I still don't know the answer to the following question; what is the difference between the battery saver and normal setting icons? They both seem to install the same cab. Anyone know the difference?

No, they are different cabs... The battery saver disables certain polling features, modifies brightness settings, g-sensor settings etc... The normal one leaves everything "standard".

you can go to phone -> options and set your own ringtone. but just doen't try to change the text, e-mail, and others without going into the registry and manually setting them.
