Before the cab the phone is drawing around 300 - 500 mA at all times, which is just crazy... After the cab, it goes to the regular 13 - 150 mA tops of course both cases with nothing else running. I can feel the drainage and actually see it, before the cab.

The issue is not what the cab changes, we all can see that, the issue is what it does to battery life, for some of us at least.

300 - 500 mA thats a lot of power output. my tp draws at a normal state at 40-50 mA
