Re: [ Jan 11 \ OS 5.2.21109 v1.2 ] Calkulin's Kitchen v1.3, ROMs & Cabs
Thanks for the heads up re 1.3 vs. 1.2.
I have been using this ROM all PM, and I like it a LOT. Since you are upgrading your kitchen, I thought I would add my two cents for suggested changes (take them for what they are worth from this noobie getting his legs back under him - I dont think I can post links yet, or I would): 1. Add a BT_DUN, and SAP bluetooth profiles to profile list/unit (not listed under available bluetooth profiles; I am not sure if it is there, as I am USB tethering (and getting great speeds with the new radio - 700K+ down, and 520K+ up - the up blows me away - off topic, sorry)). 2. Add "Bluetooth Setting" program from xda-developers (superior to ObExIn, in my opinion) [I can make the OEM for myself if you dont view this as essential core of ROM] 3. Add program called vxUtility (only program I know that pulls your MAC address from your phone (titan, when I had one), allowing for most secure form of WAP WiFi connection (if there is such a thing)) [I have the OEM, so this add is optional]. 4. What does Sensor Lock do? I try opening it, and it does not seem to work. 5. Why is Comm Manager in two places (Connections tab of Settings, and Program)? 6. Updated Touch Response (0.3) available at xda-developers 7. I know there is an updated MS Voice command out there (v.72 from Telus); is MS VC from Sprint Diamond ROM upgraded further? 8. Do you have CABs (or OEMs) for ClearVue Presentation, WorldCard Mobile, and Sprint TV (I think I have the CABs for JetCet and Sprint Music Store)? If not, any idea where I can get it (other than making my own OEM through trial and error with a Sprint ROM dump)? 9. What is optimal pagepool size (in your opinion; I know this is subjective question, but I defer to your knowledge base in asking)? 10. Is there a simple flashlight program for this TP? I have not seen something simple like VJCandela (I know about HTorch Light and neuLight). 11. Do you know the vendorID and productID for the HTC TP? I am curious, because I am trying to hard program my macintosh to see it as a modem when I plug it into a USB port; it currently does not. 12. Any way you can make it an option to have Opera Mobile be the default browser (and get rid of IE6 entirely)? When I uncheck the OEM package for IE6, IE still installs and comes up for internet access. Anyways, thats my feedback for now. Take it for what it is worth. Please note that I LOVE your ROM, and that my comments above are merely directed to making the ROM more adapted to me and my needs/wants (which do not necessarily reflect the feedback of others). Thanks again. Last edited by sd_matto; 01-17-2009 at 12:22 AM. |

Does the test 1.3 you posted have the updates you just listed Calcu?

I personally use 0MB but 16MB or 32MB should be fine. Pagepool is just one of those things that you need to try different ones and see which one performs best with the programs you use Quote:
Most of those are already included in the new version of 1.3, which is quite a bit different than the current test version that I posted, so try that one when I post it and see. As for removing IE completely, it is possible but I have not tested it to see if it has any down sides, so on my next flash I'll try that. Also if you want to me include something in the kitchen, best thing would be to post the cab/OEM and I'll include it as long as it doesn't cause problems. Quote:
Is the file in there? Also if your running vista, run the cmd as admin or just disable UC Quote:
No but the preview should be up soon with all those and a couple more I just added |

Re: [ Jan 11 \ OS 5.2.21109 v1.2 ] Calkulin's Kitchen v1.3, ROMs & Cabs
I cant get MMS to work when cooking my own ROM. Ive even tried removing calcu's arcsoft and using GC's newest verizon version but i keep getting errors when trying to send pic messages (specifically access denied and mmsc configuration errors). i have tried every troubleshooting step i could find, and nothing seems to work. i am using calcu's 1.2 kitchen and i am on verizon. any suggestions?

Re: [ Jan 11 \ OS 5.2.21109 v1.2 ] Calkulin's Kitchen v1.3, ROMs & Cabs
Thanks for the heads up, Calcu, and for the explanation. I will wait for your 1.3 to see what changes were made, and then post CABs that I feel are worthy of insertion.
One thing of note with your kitchen (not sure it is an issue with other ROMs): I cannot get BT tether (i.e., dial up modem over BT) to work on my MacBook, either under Leopard (10.5.6) or under Vista Ultimate. I am able to USB tether under both Leopard and Vista Ultimate (using either USB Modem or included WModem (for Vista) and USB Modem only (for Leopard)). And, I am able to BT tether no problem with my Blackberry Curve (so I am pretty sure that the no BT tether it is not a computer side issue). I just wonder if some registry entries and/or files might be missing which enable that functionality. Fixable, do you think? Anyways, I will await your 1.3 posting. Thanks again. |
