Thanks TMartin for the reply, helped me in google to find others with the same problem. If I can find a way to fix this problem I will be sure to post it here.

Rotostrain created a Taskbar and Tray hider application but it is for Manila 2.5 only.
Been trying to find a similar solution myself. It would be nice if you could slide up on the capacitive area below the screen to show the task and tray and slide down to hide them. Beyond my abilities though. Would make for a great app.

ShowcaseSuite will take care of that for you if you put in the proper WindowClasses:

Type: String
Description: Window Classes that will force to fix the position
Value: use ";" as separator
Default: "Manila;RESCO_EXPLORER_CLASS;RESCO_REGISTRY_CL ASS"

You can find WindowClasses on your device using FDCsoft Taskmanager and looking through the details of your processes.

i had this issue a few days ago when i tried to use a dcd base kitchen and add 2.1 to it. everything worked great except for that. couldnt figure it out. made a calk, 412 and 053 rom since and no issues anymore

for me it works with dcd,

One problem specific to this ROM is Sportsnut does not run. I just get application error upon starting the app. This is a free app that shows all the sports scores (and it worked really well till now). I installed a different 2.1 ROM and it worked, so the problem is specific to this one.

Mine finger scrolls very choppy but up and down arrows it scrolls page by page in the folder selection menu pretty smooth. So it is definitely broken, but works enough to be usable.
