I used some version 7 or 8 of dream's rom... last year. i gues 0.x
anyway I'm back to this thread to find a dream rom. That rom had a problem where when a phone call connected, i couldn't drop down the screen to turn on speaker phone. That bugged me, so i began trying out other roms.. they all sucked, even the latest and greatest of today with their hyped up names and 6.5 wm.

some froze, some had keyboard lag, some lacked essential programs.. and cooking your own roms with ppckitchen leaves out some of the bug fixes...

So IMO Dream has had the best roms I've ever used, if not the best. If not for dream i might be really dissapointed and back to cooking my own roms...

SO I hope dream isn't retired. I'm about to reload this 1.2 full from january i guess..
guess it's the latest

I couldn't agree more. I've tried just about all the ROMs on this site, and I always eventually revert back to Dream 0.7... Very solid and feature-rich.

I guess it just goes to show that "newer" doesn't actually mean "better". I'm loving this ROM because it has everything i need without all the horrible bugs in most of the new "great" roms out there. Thank you very much for this ROM, wherever you may be.

So, today I decided to hard reset my dream 1.2 Setup, and try to install (for the heck of it) the xboxmod Rhodium Manilla port.

I must say. AWESOME. It's just as fast as TF3D from the original Dream 1.2, but it now has all of the features of the tp2 port...YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!


Try it out, you won't be sorry...This is STILL the best rom on the block BY FAR. This is just another example of how timeless this ROM actually is. Great job Dream Phyre!

For those of you curious to try the xboxmod rhodium manilla port, here's the instructions I followed:

1. Go to the following page at XDA Developers Forums:

   http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493531

2. Click on the download link underneath the XBMOD screenshot, or follow it here too (I've pasted it for you) -

   http://xboxmod.totalgamer.org/release/COMPLETE%20MANILA%20PACKAGE%20+%20FIX%201D.rar

3. Follow DHarvey's instructions in post three in the thread, I've also pasted them here: Also please note that it says 21000 builds recommended, but our 20764 works just fine. The instructions mention three required cabs, but you'll see when you download there are six. I just followed the below instructions, and installed the other two after the contact cab before I soft reset. I've modified the instructions below to show that too
   
   PERFORMING A HARD RESET IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED BEFORE INSTALL!!!
   
   THIS DOES NOT WORK ON ALL ROMS!! RECOMMENDED 21000+ BUILDS ONLY!!!
   
   
   
   I'm going to try to make the installation instructions as simple as possible. This way we don't have noob questions like "How do I install this?".
   
   1. First you need to make the following changes to your settings:
      1. Browse to Start\Settings\Personal\Today\Items and DISABLE TouchFLO 3D.(See 1st Screenshot)
      2. Click ok and go back to the home screen.(See 2nd Screnshot)
      3. Now browse to Start\Settings\System\Power\Advanced and un-check all options.(See 3rd Screenshot)
      4. Click ok until you are back on the home screen.(See 2nd Screenshot)
   2. Connect your device to ActiveSync and copy the 3 required cabs to your storage card. It doesn't matter where as long as you remember
      where they are at. Disconnect from ActiveSync and Soft-Reset.
   3. Browse to the place on your storage card where you put the cab files.
      1. Install xbmod policy.cab (SOFT-RESET!!)
      2. Install XBmod VGA Rhodium Manila.cab (DO NOT SOFT-RESET YET!!)
      3. Install HTC New Contact Card.cab -
         
      4. kmart's addition - install the other two cabs numbered 5 and 6 in the zip file
      5. OKAY NOW SOFT-RESET.
   4. Browse to Start\Settings\Personal\Today\Items and ENABLE TouchFLO 3D.
   
   You should now be good to go.
   
   
   ENJOY!!
