Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

wow guys, i've come a long way, after over 5 hours on working with this phone so far

i've done the radio rom, spc is all 0's, installed mighty mike's ROM, installed the 1013 cricket prl, ran the vougue cricket cab that razors provided, and changed all the EPST settings like i did with the XV6800 on ryan's tutorial...

2 things, i still can't get my internet to work, and i can't make calls.

it seems i can *sort of* recieve calls, and its already displaying i have some voice maisl.

but as far as internet, when i try to go there, it NEVER displays the page asking me for my cricket account information...

please help, it's been a long day

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

all right, new development...

the thing that was wrong was that this rom doesn't automatically configure your connection settings, so i had to go into settings > connections and set them both to cricket

so now, i have my internet working fine, but i still can't send or recieve calls...

on a sidenote, when i dial my local area numbers, it adds a one on front of my area code...
i'm using PRL 01013

You're welcome. For future reference, you are in the "How to Flash" thread right now, so all discussions and requests in here should pertain to that. So, did you end up flashing a custom rom? If so, which one?

Here is the sprint navigation for you.

USE THIS THREAD TO UNLOCK --wow

see post 50 for indepth detaild instructions provided by egoldy

How to Flash Via PC:

1.download the ruu.zip attachment
2.unzip to your desktop
3.then in the newly created RUU directory add the rom of your choice - (copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to desktop\RUU)
4.Place phone in bootloader mode (power button while holding volume down button)
5.open the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
6.follow the RUU on screen instructions from there

If that fails please trying these directions (thanks sn0b0ard)

1. Establish active sync connection (this is the most important step).
2. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh into the RUU folder.
3. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps on screen to flash ROM.
4. Once the phone reboots, go through Windows Mobile setup and let it finish.
5. Perform a hard reset (hold power, volume down, and center d-pad).
6. Complete the Windows Mobile setup and start using your new ROM!

Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):

1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
6. When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.
Thank you much, kind sir......These instructions basically just saved my a** big time!!!!

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

Hello, I've searched but I can't seem to find this: When flashing different ROMs I have noticed some require different page pool sizes to run smoothly.

How exactly do I adjust this?

I am running Copper and I know it should be smooth and fast being that it comes from some of the best. Mine is horribly sluggish even after several reflashings and hard resets. I am assuming this is because I have not adjusted the page pool.

Thanks in advance for the help. If I did miss something and this is explained somewhere, please point me in the right direction!

If you have a sprint branded touch pro then you shouldn't need to adjust the pagepool on most roms. There are only a couple custom roms that are built to run best on the verizon, which has much lower memory then the rest of us, and those roms have the pagepool around 10. You can up the pagepool on Copper if you want but it sounds like you have some other problem going on. When you download and extract the Copper rom, it gives you an RUU folder with several files. Just open the pagepoolchanger.exe and choose the .nbh file and change it. I usually change mine to 24 or 32, if they aren't already set at that. Then flash it to your phone. You can't change the pagepool on your current installation.

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

I hit the thanx button!

I finally figured out that by using the google search function rather than the forum's search I can find much more relevant results.

I am on sprint and everything I have read says that memory is not an issue. I am assuming that Mike already set the pagepool to the ideal capacity then... which leads me to believe something else is going on. OR as we all know, devices have their own personalities and mine just may not like that ROM. I'll wait for the next update and see what happens. For now i'm patiently awaiting Mighty5.0
