i tried this, tried to uncheck fast connection, set as disk drive and set to activesync. and checked/unchecked to ask. is my connector fried?

Not sure about your connector. The only last thing i can think of is the ebay battery you got is causing this somehow. Have you tried putting the stock battery back in? What about flashing the stock shipped rom as a last resort? Or trying it on a different computer? Sorry man...I think I'm tapped out of ideas. lol

me too. yes, i've tried with the original battery. Thanks for staying up with me. the only problem is this all started so i could be ready to get on a plane at 7 this am. i guess i'm not going to get a lot of sleep but once again i really do appreciate your time razor. good night.

i tried it with advanced functionality checked and unchecked without luck. something i just noticed was activesync used to always show up in the quick menu all the time even if i closed it, now i never see it there.

a lot of the custom roms on here have it hidden by default. If you go to Settings, then Task Manager, then Exclusive tab, you should see it listed as repllog.exe. Anything you add in there will not show up on the quick menu...even if it's running. If it's not listed in there, then you may have found the problem. That's why I suggested to you earlier to flash the stock rom to see if it's anything weird going on with the custom rom you're using.
