I tried various combinations and found the problem.

1. All the special codes ##codes# or ##codes dial do not work except one: ##778 dial
2. The working one ##778 dial only works if PhoneCanvas (3.40.32288.1) is cooked in the ROM and the HTC PhoneCanvas is the default dialer.
3. If you want to use the Windows standard dialer, you have to deselect PhoneCanvas during cooking the ROM.
4. The same version of PhoneCanvas (3.40.32288.1) was used in 1.03.9d but 1.03.9d does not have the above problems. It works with all the ##codes# and with both the HTC PhoneCanvas and Windows standard dialer. The 1.04 and 1.07 I tested both have the above problems.

Thanks for all the great tips. I tried it again for a while and still felt it not so responsive as build 21042. The phone would lock up from time to time. I think I'll stay with 1.04 for a while.

Is this a newer build? Or just another option? Also, is the ezInput t9 fixed for name suggestions? and does the unknown caller problem using the windows lockscreen work?

i like the but i noticed some bugs...

-quickqps doesn't work. cant open exe.
-the clock on the titlebar always shows unluss you untick "Diplay the clock on the title bar in all programs..." in clock setings > more. this used to happen in the release before 21502, but didn't happen in 21502.
-the xip isn't modified yet. file access is still slow.
-my ringer stopped working. vibrate worked. no sound though. had to soft reset.

another possible bug... (although quick gps works for me, but i have a custom OEM folder in place of the one that comes with the kitchen)

i had to add phcanOverbmp.dll to the phone dialer to get the taskbar battery icon to work properly (showed 100% regardless of condition)

-quickgps: I realized this after uploading the kitchen. just use an older version.
-clock: this is a known issue with wm 6.5, unless someone found the fix for it, this is normal.
-xip: i don't modify xips. (other than to remove people's stupid branding **** with their name)
-ringer: I'm not so sure what would have happened there, but my ringer has been going strong for a couple days now...

i recall reading that phonecanvas still doesn't quite work correctly with 6.5 yet. you can work around this by going into the clock settings and unchecking "Always display clock in title bar"

i did what u said for quickgps. for the clock, I know it is a known issue, but it wasn't in your 1.7 kitchen. i didn't mean for u to modify the xip. but dont most people use former's xip in their kitchen? for the ringer, I saw calckuin(sp?) had "fixed the no ringer issue" in his latest kitchen too.

Hmm, as with other builds, anything after 21501 (21222, etc) seems to hang my phone until flash.

It may be my phone, which is probably the case, but Im interested to know- does anyone else's phone hang at the title screen? And are you on Verizon? Given how hard VZ worked at crippling the features for this phone (the VZ touch pro) I wouldnt be surprised if there was a minnimum requirement of ram that was the cause of all my problems.

Hmm, odd little bug here, perhaps fixable in the registry (I didn't find one though). When clicking the "x" or "ok" buttons, the highlight that appears upon clicking is offset to the left a little bit. No idea why though. I didn't install HTC Task manager, could this have anything to do with it?

I noticed this too. Perhaps it has to do with the battery icon being messed up (always showing 100%).

On a good note... this kitchen is the only way to go if you want to get the full potential of your internet speed with sprint. I noticed that all the other kitchens that are carrier generic often cut my speed in half.

Also, THANK YOU for having a working PUSH active-sync. More than half of the other kitchens and roms do NOT have this working.

Seems I cannot get rid of the "getting started" item in the titanium home screen. Had to load titanizer to remove it. I didnt want to have to load that since that app also has its own quirkiness.

Would like a better start menu icon set... and a working battery indicator.

Would like to see you include office communicator. I see it is available on some other kitchens and roms.

auto word completion is still running (even when I turn it off). Would like to see this fixed. Maybe it is because i selected NOT to install a SIP?

Yeah, it seems like the taskbar in general is a little wacky, between clock, battery, and the x-press feedback glo being displaced. Has anybody tried a replacement taskbar by tsowen or anything? i wonder if that would help at all...

i cant seem to get this build to work on my TP ...it loads okay but then just stays at the boot screen ..the radio info ( red letters ) come up and then just sits there ..it never actualy boots ... not sure whats wrong ...

Actually, I see that the SAC Warrior kitchen has this build. I suspect that it is fake since no one has even mentioned it pre-release. Usually we know when something is coming. Even if it is real, I encourage everyone to stick with ROMs and Kitchens that allow you to select your carrier. I have noticed that my internet speed is only half what it should be when I choose "ALL carrier" ROMS. I am with sprint, and I need to be able to choose the sprint carrier in order to get net speeds of 1400k +. Without selecting sprint, I am limited to 750k.

the WM6.5 dialer doesnt have the necessary file to make the battery inidicator work... the icon is controlled by this dll ----> phcanOverbmp.dll... you need to drop that into the build (htc dialer s2a or non s2a) and the battery indicator will work...

That might make sense if you were using the HTC dialer, but for those that are not including it (and sticking with the windows dialer), it would not make sense. You are suggesting that MS functionality is broken out of the box and that it takes a 3rd party dll to resolve. Again, makes sense if you are using a 3rd party dialer from the get-go, otherwise, no... makes no sense. I am using the MS dialer because i need the lock functionality to work (it is flakey if you dont use the MS dialer).

using beta software for a critical application doesnt make sense either, yet we all do... i am just offering a solution to your problem...

btw... you can add the file to the WM6.5 dialer and achieve the same result

21725 was released early this morning. I am currently working on the kitchen and should be able to upload tonight. Supposedly it is an overhauled build with better stability and response

amazing. thanks erice. I was also wondering if you are going to be adding options for titanium OEMs such as contacts and weather. would also like to see the battery icon fixed (and a suite of cooler icons) and the pulling of the "getting started" item in the CHome screen.

Scratch that. Unless someone has a better SYS, 21725 is horribly slow and unusable compared to 21234... I'll keep looking

I dont make carrier OEMs. If you can find an OEM for Cricket, go ahead and copy into the OEM folder of the kitchen.

lol, erice the oem's for my carrier work fine in bepe kitchen, and in ppckitchen.org however calkulin and erice kitchen it WILL NOT BOOT. it goes to the touch pro screen and locks up. no matter what i do, even editing the telus carrier it does this. i know it is an issue in your kitchen and when your kitchen first released people were complaining of this. it seems to be something with the carrier oem's.

i can post a provxml that will work, but without your kitchen booting i don't know what to do. i've resorted back to bepe kitchen until these new kitchens figure out why their carrier oem's cause the device not to boot.

cricket carrier that works on calkulin kitchen, i assume it works on erice also. i haven't tested with your kitchen but i know yours and calkulins are similar. this should work without causing the phone to lock up on boot.

I cant get the status menu to work. I tried cooking w/ and w/o largetitlebar with no success. Please please please let me know if you somehow get it to work and what HTC stuff you also added in (dialer, commmanager, etc)

I just ran this kitchen (the 2.0 one) and as always selected the things I wanted and didn't want, then went through, had it build, and then flash. However, after the flash, the system reboots, and just sits at the "Touch Pro" splash screen with the red ROM info at the bottom and never seems to move on. I tried to reboot once to see if it would recover, but still just sitting there. Anyone have suggestions or should I try to reflash?

hello, erice. i noticed you posted in another thread about the annoying 'text message number not going away. so i decided to try your kitchen. but i for one like 6.1 i can't really get into 6.5 yet. but your most recent 6.1 kitchen still seems to have that problem. what are the updates on that or what kitchen do i need to drop back to, so i can get rid of that problem?
