Thanks!!!

this is an issue with tmail and is not something I'm looking into fixing. it is notorious in some of those builds and I do not know the cause of the problem. It may be possible to exchange some of the baseapp folders from a previously known working build (ie. 20931) but that's the only advice I have and I have not personally tested it. I've stopped working with 6.1, and am focusing on 6.5 now.

When I try to install pocket express it says I do not have a supported device. Also when I go to Internet Explorer and it opens Sprint's site. It says the phone is a Samsung Ace II. Is there a way to change this so it knows my phone is a Touch Pro

Re: [5-25-09] eRice TP Kitchen v2.0 [SYS OS 5.2.21234 Build 21234.5.0.1] All Carriers

Ok, I have the Touch Pro from Sprint. When I downloaded Opera 9.5 Beta and when I go to http://powerdeck.sprint.com it says "My Sprint Unknown Unkown PPC". So there must be something in IE that make it think it is a Samsung Ace II. I was also able to install Pocket Express from Opera.

some of this may already have been said

On the home screen when you go to Getting Started. None of the links within work such as Add/Remove. If I go to TouchFlo 3d View, the internet does not work and View All Settings takes you to setting up Settings > connections > Connections.

In the Windows Default view, the pictures will not let me default to an album on the SD card and the Album covers from music do not show from the SD card only from the phone. The album covers do show in Windows Media player.

The QuickGPS does not work nor can I download gps maps for Tomtom.
QuickGPS says "The file 'QuickGPS' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

Last, is there a change the order of icons and remove apps that will not be used such as pocket IRC?

Aha, thank you Juggs. I've been out of the kitchen building scene for a bit now (publicly at least) so help is appreciated.

Opera Phone Name - these SYS files that control the hardware name in IE and Opera were taken from GSM devices and most are not native to the TP. This can potentially be rectified by replacing the Browse/browsing files in SYS with older known correct copies, but will inevitably reduce functionality.

Getting Started - pretty sure this is a NetCF problem. I think I read somewhere that it requires a particular version of it, maybe 2.0, but the kitchen includes 3.5.

TouchFlo 3d - Are you using the version that I included in the kitchen? I do not have these problems.

Windows View - There may be a regedit that controls where Album looks for pictures and which it defaults to. As for album art, every song I play that has album art in the folder displays just fine on Titanium.

QuickGPS - This may be attributed to the NetCF problem, but the version I included with the kitchen does work, if nothing was changed. In fact, that's the only version I have ever used on all rom versions.

Removing Unused Apps - This is a kitchen so you don't have to select all of the OEMs I've included, only the ones you want. Pocket IRC is definitely not needed.

Hope that helps.

Great work on this kitchen as always. I have used your kitchens since trying it out back when I used to use the ppckitchen.org kitchens. Yours has less clutter and is fast so I made the switch although I do like how ppckitchen's has an OEMizer and splash screen features built in.

If anyone is experiencing an issue where the menus don't display properly (can't see top and bottom options, see image 'screen01'), I found that it might be due to the following:
Code:

      <characteristic type="HKLM\System\GWE\Menu">
        <parm name="AniType" datatype="integer" value="6"/>
      </characteristic>

Anybody know how to map FN + SYM (= launch web browser) it to IE?

Also, I'm experiencing that text issue and it's showing two suggestion boxes. (see image 'screen.jpg')
Registry edit doesn't seem to work:
Code:

      <characteristic type="HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip">
        <parm name="SuggWords" datatype="integer" value="0"/>....

Any advice would be appreciated.

Go ahead and try the newest iteration of the kitchen. I definitely know what you're talking about but I haven't been using that version for quite some time. I'm pretty this has been resolved in the later builds of 6.5.

Lol, I don't even think anyone is using the kitchen anyway, but I'm going to upload Kitchen Pack 1.1 soon. Includes some bug fixes I found after 1.0 was finished. 23008 Build Pack should be fine. Currently working on a possible 23009 Build Pack.

I have a quick question, this is my first time using any kitchen stuff, I am one of millions that was an Alltel customer but now merged into Verizon. I have the Alltel Touch Pro but now on Verizon system, should I choose Alltel or Verizon as my carrier?
Thanks, Ken

That's a good question. When you use your phone now, does it say Alltel, or Verizon on it? I'd choose whichever your phone currently displays.

Thanks, it is currently Alltel, just upgraded rom to the new release that HTC put out this month for Alltel, it has the slide to answer, I love that, used to miss almost every call due to getting ignored.
I built with Verizon to try it, after pressing play and it finishes, what next? I found the RUU folder, do I run the file in there to get it to my phone?

When BuildOS says "Done" at the bottom, close the program and let the DOS boxes do their work. When the flash utility pops up, then you're ready to go into bootloader and flash the ROM.

i suggest cooking with the alltel as their ota is still proprietary to alltel and some features may not function properly

Thank you for the reply.

I'm downloading the new kitchen right now! :)

UPDATE: New kitchen and build is running great so far. Very fast cooking action! Word suggestion issue seems to be resolved.

I cooked with Alltel, seems to work, still playing with it. The only real problem I found was after calibrating the screen and when it does the Windows directory, can't remember what it was. I hit the reset button since the device was locked up and now it seems to work. I've texted and made phone calls. I don't see the RevA symbol, I assume this version is RevA, Thanks. I'll try the 1.1 out when you load it.

is there a way to set the taskbar to show the battery meter istead of the digital clock? i have TF3D2 enabled, but the clock shows when i have WM6.5 enabled also. i am sure there is a simple edit (either .rgu or provxml) and for the life of me i just cant find it.

thanx in advance for the good work and help

I'm glad it's working for you! Th phone does run on RevA when it is in a coverage area, the symbol doesn't show because I only included the regular OEM icons instead of the RevA ones. You can find the seprate revA battery and signal icons from Calku I think. Anyway, 1.1 should be up soon. Just putting the finishing touches on it.

I've been working almost a week straight on trying to figure that out. It's apparently been reported as an issue with almost all of the newest 23xxx builds. Finally found that reg edit and I've included it in the new Kitchen Pack 1.1 I'm going load in a bit. With that, you can just replace the OEM folder, or copy the "Battery Fix" OEM out if you want.

thanx... it has been a hard way for me to figure this out. i have tried everything from common regedits to looking through lines and lines of .rgu and provxml files with no luck

It displays another device name in IE on the sprint powerdeck webpage. It's contained in SYS and I'm trying to figure out exactly where. As for the battery issue, Kitchen Pack 1.1 is up now and has the fix included in it.

Well it's been asked before. It was stickied because it was the first kitchen for the Touch Pro made available. From there, it just never got removed.
