Hello! Love the progress. I am running vista on my pc and am having a hard time to flash to your rom. When I run the RUU, I get to the 3rd screen with an error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Did you run Hard SPL version 037? Are you connected via WMDC before running the RUU?

Re: JD's ROM

Yes. I used 3.7 to unlock, and I am connected wmdc.

jd where are we at on that picture mail fix?

chulo12 11-04-2008 04:12 PM

Re: JD's ROM

Im not on my pc right now, but i believe it was something along the lines of 204 or 207. Something like that. how do you hard reset? after the hard reset, will i have to unlock again or go straight into flashing the rom?

Yay 4 Juggs 11-04-2008 04:14 PM

Re: JD's ROM

to do a hard reset just use the clear storage app in settings...you wont have to unlock again

pro_b 11-04-2008 04:15 PM

Re: JD's ROM

You will not have to unlock again after a hard reset. A hard reset is for the rom.

Re: JD's ROM

240 is file open error...could mean the ruu is bad or the ruu_signed.nbh is not in the right directory...

what ruu are you using and where did you copy the ruu_signed.nbh file?

chulo12 11-04-2008 06:05 PM

Re: JD's ROM

i did not copy the ruu anywhere. where do i have to copy the ruu? i am also trying to use the herman ruu.

Hey JD. First off, mad props on your continuing hard work. I have a question that I never saw answered earlier. I too tried to take your rom and using DogGuy's kitchen, I removed some of the OEMs that I would never use, like the RSS app, Streaming Media, etc. I can successfully build the rom and flash but the customizations will get stuck at Running... and will never progress. Can you help me with what I may be doing wrong? I just removed some of the OEM apps and then used BuildOS to rebuild then flashed. I'm sure I may have missed a step somewhere... Or feel free to chime in Yay or anyone else who may have an answer.

this is exactly the place mine gets stuck at. it will never continue. otherwise everything builds fine and flashes. do we know why this happens??

Re: JD's ROM

the rom you downloaded has to be put in the ruu folder of the herman kitchen once its extracted

when using the dogguy kitchen you have to run prepit.bat first that will create the directories...the files youre trying to remove are in the sys folder...not the oem folder. remove from there then run buildos then run buildit.bat then flash

Try to flash off of your SD card.

1) Rename the .nbh file to RAPHIMG.nbh
2) Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to your SD card
3) hold down the Volume Down and Power bottom...while doing so soft reset.

If all goes well you should see a "press Volume up" (or power button, can't remember) to update message on the screen when the TP boots

chulo12 11-04-2008 06:16 PM

Re: JD's ROM

ok. just a little confused. i thought that all i have to do is run the ruu.exe and let it flash from there. thats how the vogue was usually done. kinda new with this stuff.

Try downloading this file:
ftp://bryan2:anon2008@63.229.102.70/JDTP3.rar

Extract the contents and go through the steps I gave you, this will "bypass" the RRU and flash off your SD card.
This is the method I used to upgrade to the JDTP3 rom, may work better for you.

Just to confirm....you did unlock the phone with the Hard-SPL first right?

right I understand how the kitchen works. what files need to be deleted? the kitchen builds the rom and flashes it fine, but when it starts customizing the phone, it stops at "Running ..." and never goes anywhere.

Phone Dialer

I got the JD ROM installed everything is great but the phone dialer doesnt seem to match the color scheme. How do i make it black and to match the rest of the TF3D scheme?

Re: JD's ROM

So, We can use a herman kitchen?

electronicrice 11-04-2008 07:32 PM

Re: JD's ROM

okay, now running TP3 get the customizations to AutoVer.exe and that's where it freezes, in the exact same spot as it did before with just "Running ...". The phone will not finish customizations when building from a kitchen

from the oemapps folder remove the following files
rsshub.lnk
rss hub help.html
rsshub.exe
rsshubtoday.dll
rsshubwakeup.exe

streaming media.lnk
streamingplayer.exe
streamingplayer.xml

then remove the info in the rgu for both apps

Re: JD's ROM

nah, still stick at AutoVer.exe on customizations and doesn't move any further

all that's created in OEMAPPS is a .dsm and when viewing file type alphabetically there is no RGU file
