I think it is only 12. His rom seems to be the best for me, but the page pool kills it for me. Yet, I have to go back since no2chem's latest release has too many bugs. I was using D1's larger page pool and it was nice.

I like this ROM the best. I only have a couple apps open anyhow, so 12 is fine.

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

does this new version with the older sys files fix the multi select and text message count issue. where the new number only went to zero if you viewed the text in tf3d.

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

I noticed in the change log that "Enlarge Start Menu" was left in. However, I can't seem to get it to work. It's also checked in the TouchFLO settings.

EDIT: I can get the largemenu's to work if install the default Sprint cabs that LilRico posted, but then I get the yellow selected items bar, which doesn't match the default HTC black & green theme.

EDIT2: Found a cab on XDA that matches the default HTC theme.

EDIT3: Okay did a 3rd hard reset and now the largemenu is there (w/ correct green colors to match theme). Weird!

Will there be a fix for landscape mode not showing up correctly? (I just get the usual portrail mode tflo, with garbled screen on the right side.

I believe you're running No2chem's rom if you have this problem.

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

k, upgraded and it does indeed fix the multi select, not sure on the text yet but another question, i have a duplicate entry in settings menu for "keyboard sliding sounds" any way to fix this? im gonna look through the registry now.

DomSim 11-12-2008 05:25 PM

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

btw i believe this extra sliding sound is due to the sprite backup and not your rom but still, how do i remove the extra?

This can happen with the stock rom as well...not specific to a particular rom.

also quickgps and g sensor calibration seem to have been removed from this update as well.

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

Does anyone know how to keep the screen from shutting off when making a call?

ruskiyab 11-12-2008 08:47 PM

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

There's an option for that in diamondtweak and advanced config

Personally though, I like 5.1 better. Seems faster to me

jakdillard 11-12-2008 08:54 PM

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

yeah 5.1 was faster but broke this build focuses on stability and fixes several issues like when u kill as it stays dead

ruskiyab 11-12-2008 09:14 PM

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

Comes down to personal preference then. The "issues" 5.1 had don't bother me so I'm sticking with speed. Thanks for a great rom! One thing though. Any idea whhy when I rebuild 5.1 without spb backup using dogguys kitchen, a bunch of things I install afterwords will not run giving me some sort of error about security?

DomSim 11-12-2008 10:07 PM

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

so either stick with this build with older system files or older rom versoon with newer system files? is there anyway to fix the issues in the newer system files?

Why do you nee that I might ask? I was trying to find a way to have the screen shut off right when the phone touchs your ear like the Iphone. It saves battery to shut off the screen when you talk. If you need it on, just press the power button. I'd think you would need it off more than on.

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

Yeah, I'm definitely using your rom. I basically installed it with a hard reset, then I re-installed the sprint manilla because I like the icons and the neon colors as opposed to the dull black htc theme. I did this by disabling tflo in today, installing the manilla theme, and then resetting, re-enabled tflo. Do you know of any manual way to fix this other then a hard reset?

What are you guys using to backup your phones software so you don't have to reinstall all your settings (transparent sliders, cab files, settings, etc) besides the pay software sprite backup? Is there a good free alternative? I love this rom so far, other then it having the HTC default theme. Thats just personal preference though, I think the TP deserves a more snappy looking UI then that.

+1 on adding Sprint theme! love everything about the rom except for theme...can you make 2 versions JD?!

Did you have a cab for the Sprint Manilla?

How to fix what?

For backing up I use SPB Backup...but I don't restore after a flash to a new rom because it can overwrite some of the registry entries and sometimes things dont restore correctly and its usually better to just start from scratch each time. On that not I recommend using Sashimi Auto installer - http://www.winmo-experts.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4

just take a couple of hours to get it all set up and watch the videos its pretty easy.

Basically there are folders for your .cabs, .reg, .xml, a way to copy files over to your windows folder or wherever you want...then you press auto install and it does everything for you...

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

I was speaking of a fix for my issue of switching to landscape mode but getting the standard tflo3d in portrait, meaning the right side of the screan shows garbled display (multicolor) and the bottom of the portrai is cutoff (since its showing it in landscape mode). I'll check out those two programs as that could save me some major time, at least installing the main cabs I use.

I didn't have a cab for the sprint manilla, it was a zip file which had all the manilla files for that theme linked in this forum.

+2 for Sashimi.

Also, why is the Long press End key option in Settings taken out?

Ok Folks Just To Update You Again .... I Tried The Cleaner Rom Thing For The Touch Pro And It Sucks ..... My Pda Feel Like Its A Phone With A Start Menu ... Sprint Didn't Do To Bad With The Rom In The First Place So ... I Will Be Adding Back In Some Just Some Of The Deleted Apps So My Ppc Will Feel Like A Ppc Again ... The Touch Pro Has Enough Space In Storage And Memory That We Can Afford To Use Its Space So Give A Day Or Two And I'll Up Another Better Rom

Little OT, but uh, do you have a program to cap the first letter in each word or is your shift key about to be warn out?

Looking forward to the new rom, sounds like exactly what I want :) I actually wouldn't mind keeping the SprintTV thing, its just nice for showing friends from time to time. It'd be great if we could have the option to remove the tab completely or add it back in with some configuration program. I'm also looking forward to the HD Manilla theme being cookable. GJ so far man!

THANK YOU. I never understood why we were making such "Clean" roms. We have all the storage space in the world. I can understand taking out some of the sprint stuff, but taking out the Long Press end key and other useful items is beyond me, especially when a cab is not readily available for it.

Re: [11/7] JD's ROM

yeah for a minute i felt like it would be cool to remove the apps that I was not using but then I thought about how much I had to pay for this device and I figured I want my monies worth so whatever software that is not sprint related is staying .....

the next rom I put out will reflect the GSM version of the touch pro

i completely side with u on this.....if u can find a bar code scanner like the g1 that would be very useful, i saw that app in person yesterday in class and i was really impressed it recognizes it almost instantly. i mean i tried the worldcard reader and its cool it works i mean next time i get a business card sure ill use it because i can.

I really think you are making a great decision. What's bad is, there are some games that I load on my phone that I dont even use really, like bejeweled. But when somebody asks to see your phone, they always go to see what kind of games you have on it. I have it automatically installed by sashimi so it never bothers me. Space is abundant on the TP.

I'll be waiting patiently for the new rom. *add* You really dont use picture mail at all???

REQUEST: I realize you may have other wishes for your and I respect that and also realize this may take too much work. However, I do not think too man people would disagree with me that the stock icons for EV/battery/start/etc are sad. There is a post here which I followed step by step (took about 45min) that installs some very sweet 3d icons that also are pretty neutral. Would it be at all possible for these to be included in your rom. That would be the sweetest thing ever :)

On a more serious *request* note (nothing against custom icons but they are all completely personal preference)

Can you throw SDAutorun in there?

Just get sashimi and get it ovr with. It can do SD autorun as well, if you're so inclined. SD autorun is just not that powerful.

too bulky how? it installs on the storage card and just has shortcuts on the device.
