Re: [ROM][WWE][03/30/10] swinnROM 6.5.5 23554/21898 CLEAN

At 87.98mb of total ram my tp's definitely gimped, and I've never tried a 32mb pp but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Just double checked my .nbh and page pool changer shows it as 32mb, so unless something could have forced it back down, that's what it's running.

It'll take some days before I know if it's sustainable...

Oh that would be great if you could include that! Feels strange not mapping my back button to Task Manager.

What size pagepool is recommended on a Sprint Touch Pro?

I use dynamic and works well since I basically have unlimited memory haha.

I've been using 24mb pagepool and it's been very smooth. 16mb would be fine as well. You could probably go even lower than that if you wanted to.

Re: [ROM][WWE][03/30/10] swinnROM 6.5.5 23554/21898 CLEAN

Hey. I've been lurking around for quite a while. Thinking maybe I'll flash a custom ROM one of these years, but couldn't find one that I think I'd like and then could never find a good time to do it (I depend on my phone for work, so if something happens to it: creek, no paddle). I actually tried a couple "slim" roms before this one. This is very nice. I'm really enjoying it. I never thought this phone could be so. . . usable.

One question: I flashed the "generic" rom from the second post (for mobile office) one thing I'm confused about: everything phone related (voice, text, data) worked out of the box. I'm on Sprint. Do I still need to install the Sprint carrier cab?

Otherwise, I couldn't find any issues. I mean even if I did, with all the stuff I've installed so far the main storage usage is still under 6 MB. Memory usage peaks around 80 (running Opera 10 or Skyfire). And it's not like the stock rom isn't glitchy, itself. That's also after installing the (so far) useless Market Place.

You should install the carrier cab on the generic builds even if it does appear to be working

Ah, ok. I understand There are some customizations like roam ringer, data error codes, prl updater, things like that.

I've noticed that as well with most "generic" roms I've flashed. Usually my data, phone etc all work without the carrier cab. But I still install the carrier cab to be safe. Not gonna hurt anything to install it so why not?

Anyone know if there is a way to change the font size of the menus in WinMo? I know back when I used Mighty roms that his menu font sizes were smaller than default. Are there some reg entries to change or anything?
