READ ME: This is a "Clean" "Stripped" Base OS only ROM if you do not know how to add programs via cab file or how to search for apps then you may not want to use this rom

Don't know how to flash Please Read: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=43266

I always hard-reset immediately after a flash- maybe this is just paranoia but can it hurt?

16MB PagePool -- PagePool Changer Included in ZIP file so you can change it to whatever you prefer

These ROMs are how I want them, with just the base Microsoft functionalities installed with the Titanium home screen, no Manila (I can't believe anyone really likes Manila to be honest). I build these, install the programs I want, and change the settings to what I want. I couldn't believe no one else posted ROMs like this, so I went ahead and did it for myself. I'll continue to update the ROMs as new SYS and XIP files come out, but they are what they are-- don't ask for extra features. I test them on my own Sprint TP and they work perfectly fine so I don't know what could be going wrong if you have any problems. If you use MMS, I suggest you install the Arcsoft MMS program I have attached.

Titanium Customizer.cab is now attached below if you want to rearrange your home screen

Thanks: JD- These ROMs are created from his 1.03.651.1 Kitchen I owe it all to him.
Da G- I usually use his rollups to create the ROMs
All the other PPCGeekers and XDA-ers: I've read so many articles and received so much input and help that my cooking has vastly improved the past few months. Thanks!

Any screen shots of this ROM?

brushbailey 01-11-2010 02:08 AM

Re: [ROM] Bazzle's CLEAN ROMs 23518 28205

It's pretty standard WM6.5 fare, looks basically like this with a few minor exceptions. i.e.: four icon per row start menu; it says sprint, not att; the build number is whatever you dl; no getting started or marketplace in the start menu

Hope that helps!

Thanks bro. Now does it run Manila?

Re: [ROM] Bazzle's CLEAN ROMs 23518 28205

Because I've been looking for a ROM thats completely clean, runs with Sprint, and has Windows Mobile 6.5, and also has Manila, not Manila 2.5. That would be a ROM that everybody would go after! Give it a thought. :) Maybe you could create another one?

Re: [ROM] Bazzle's CLEAN ROMs 23518 28205

Sorry man, I'm just not a fan of Manila (as you may have noticed in the first post). It's slower than chome and I just really think it's a clunky interface. These are just ROMs I make for myself that I upload to share with all the ppcgeekers. You might try fooling around with JD's or RZ's kitchens- RZ's would probably be a good start.

Good job on the ROM man! Finally yet another ROM I can use to Verizons shotty memorys advantage!
Im like you Brush, I like Titanium as well and it doesnt use near as much memory as Manila does :)

My quick recommendations for adding to a clean base:
- Disable security warnings
- Add more button support (right now you can only configure the long send key with the built in app)

Thanks for putting these together!

Mike, I'll look into that when I get some free time. Those sounds like some decent modifications once I figure it out :) Im kinda self-teaching myself all of this and still pretty new at it.
Thanks for the recommendations!

Quick Question ... UC support?? or sashimi??? I'm asking... I havent flashed the rom. If not... look into it, thats all a base rom REALLY needs. And UC is "free"

I really don't know haha, if it's not in JD's Kitchen or the SYS then it doesn't have it. If you find out it's not, I'll definitely look into it that sounds pretty useful.

Exactly what I've been looking for. I cannot stand Manila... slow, cumbersome, and imo, ugly.

I'm downloading this now...

Alrighty then...

Installed this last night & it's exactly as advertised. Just the bare bones... nice & clean. Thank you very much for the excellent work!

Just trying out this rom myself. You brought up a good point about the security warnings. This registry tweak did the trick for me. Just an fyi for anyone who cares :)

Disable the security warning when installing non-certified application
To disable the security warning when installing a non-certfied application, set:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 1 (DWORD decimal)
To restore the warnings:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies\0000101a = 0 (DWORD decimal)

worked on my Sprint Touch Pro.

Thanks for the recommendations!

I can help you with the security notifications, but I have never looked at the buttons control panel before.

Enable Rapi will turn off the security warnings
Cab Converter can turn the file in to an OEM package to be baked in to the ROM

Another option would be to bake the following provisioning script in to the ROM:

Code:

<wap-provisioningdoc>
<characteristic type="Registry">
 <characteristic type="HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies">
  <parm name="00001001" value="1" datatype="integer" />
  <parm name="00001005" value="222" datatype="integer" />
  <parm name="00001006" value="1" datatype="integer" />
  <parm name="00001017" value="16" datatype="integer" />
  <parm name="0000101a" value="1" datatype="integer" />
  <parm name="0000101b" value="1" datatype="integer" />
 </characteristic>
</characteristic>
</wap-provisioningdoc>

Good luck and thanks again!

First off, I just wanna say this ROM is really FAST! I just wanted to see if anyone had any luck configuring the keyboard. Usually there is a tab in the settings/personal section to configure the keyboard options (word complete) etc...Does anyone know the registry key for word completion or had any luck adding and configuring another screen touch keyboard?

Re: [ROM] Bazzle's CLEAN ROMs 23518 28205

great job! i can confirm that this works nicely with my gimped verizon phone. i managed to get 55 MB ram free on boot with everything fully loaded.

a few things:
1. start->settings->personal->input is missing, but the following registry hack brings it back:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input\ and delete the key "Redirect".

2. i initially tried build 23518. that build had a watermark expiration date set to may 2010. does it mean the build is timebombed? switched to build 28205, so far so good!

keep up the good work!!

I think the kitchen fixes the time bomb, but I'm not completely sure. I think the 28205 build is faster anyways. I'm stilling looking into cooking in the reg hacks and everything but that might have to wait until the semester here at my school calms down. Still working on dependencies too in order to trim the SYS down even further. Glad some of you guys enjoy these!

this is a decent rom if u are using a gimped verizon TP & only want titanium.I personally am sick of titanium and i like sense 2.1 and 2.5.with Sense 2.5 being my favorite. I feel there are already plenty of bare-bones,stripped, clean roms available.like mightyrom, juicyrom,etc.and most clean roms look the same as yours.I tested ur rom and its stable,and reasonably fast. but i dont want a custom rom thats titanium and looks almost stock. mighty and some others offer updates for their roms with custom themes and at least offer a titanium,Sense 2.1,and Sense 2.5 builds to play with.i want to see more roms like Decks SsS TP2 roms & any of NRGs roms. both have custom graphics,themes,and icons.its easy to make a clean slate rom work good,but its another to choose and make a loaded rom with matching customized icons and a custom theme or themes, and custom visualizations,one of a kind graphics and animations. i prefer the Sense 2.5 roms and on my sprint TP or TP2. sense 2.5 only boots up to 55% max. & usually they stay around 53%-60%max.the only way i would stick with only titanium is with a gimpd Verizon TP.but for a clean,basic rom its excellent.i would just like to see more customized roms available.

ummm yeah.... then i just dont think this thread is for you...why try a rom knowing full well what its gonna be as the op explained hi intentions in the 1st post, just to complaind that its not what you wanted... there are plenty of themed out, fully loaded roms available...just go get one, and quite trashin this thread...thanks!

Sure did, for me that's just extra junk. I figure if you want another theme or game, you can find the cab and install it easily enough. I also removed a few other SYS items that are unnecessary.

And the nbh is basically right at 70 megs.

70 megs? That is nuts.
Gutted pretty much everything out?
What does it still have?

wakko, i'm really not sure where the bluetooth icon went to. bluetooth does work though, which is the most important thing. i'll try and look into it but im in the process of changing computers right now so it might be a little bit.

root, that's exactly what I did. This ROM is basically what it says in the first post: a base, stripped OS with pretty much no extra fluff. I just keep removing the fluff as i find it. (Which includes those extra themes and HTC's ringers and any kind of extra software whatsoever).

To sum it all up, this is a ROM that "just works". There may be some quirky stuff like the security warnings and no bt icon at the moment, but it works as a smartphone. The idea is that you install the programs and extra functionality that YOU want.

And once again, this is just a general comment (not directed at you root) I make this ROM for myself to do what I want it to do. I'm just sharing it with you guys because there is nothing else out there like this except JD's ROMs and they're outdated at the moment. Please READ the first post before you start complaining about what I've taken out of the ROM. I'm sorry if there was a misunderstanding.
