This has me confused. Before I get bothered by it, can you explain what you're talking about. The way I am reading it you are sounding like an arsehole. Sometimes things get lost when going from speach to text. Just want to be clear is all because I feel the need to defend the chef because of his hard work.

Not trying to turn this into a flame, but if the FREE rom, that represents hours of hard work and skill to get such kick-a$$ performance is zip'd or rar'd or whatever, and the uncompress program is also available free, why would anyone complain? For what it's worth, I've been using the built-in Extract feature in WinXP, and have had no glitches uncompressing these files. People should keep these negative comments to themselves, espically when the Chef in this case is going out of his way to keep cooking for us TP owners, despite that he's move on to a TP2. I say hats off to the Chef, and if you don't like how he's compressed the files, move on to another ROM - nobody is stopping you.

Snif* Snif* Looks like i'm sorta leaving for now. Read my Assurion - Alltel thread in the main forum to see why. My main phone, for now at least, will be a blackberry, and no, I'm not happy about it. At least I'll still be able to play a little, but not as much as before. Still have my daughter's TP to play with, but it's going to be hard to get her to let me take iRoot off there.

Wow, didn't mean to offend anyone. I did read a comparison review of 7z, winzip, and winrar recently (and now I can't find it!), but one of the things they mentioned was that 7z had the highest possible compression ratio available, and that setting wasn't compatible with the others. To me, the zip file format is kind of a standard, and I hate to see people throwing out incompatilbe files. Hopefully the chef isn't.

I just used winrar on the latest download, and it seems to come out ok (didn't flash it, though). Like I said, didn't want to offend the masses, I'm outa hear with my tail tucked in...

7zip decompresses winrar and the reverse is true also. No incompatibility issues going on

Ok, I guess I see what you're getting at. Sometimes it's hard to tell the tone behind the text. The way I read your first post I took it as dissing the chef for his choice of compression. That's why I asked before I attacked. Maybe asked a little too harshly, but it happens. No worries from me. Let's all move on and enjoy.

Very few good roms left coming from good chefs.
Ski is one of the best and ahushkins is also one of the best.
Good roms take time. Great roms only come from great chefs.
Give thanks to the man and enjoy the great Ski rom.
Winrar has worked fine when compressed with 7z for me.
I only use winrar for both but it should not be an issue.
Try some other roms if you want but you will always go back to what works.

You could use the RUU from the last ROM you flashed-the 2.1 you're on. That'd work too. Just replace the .nbh file in that folder with the 2.5 ROM's .nbh and run THAT RUU.
IMO the 2.1 ROMS are obsolete not that we have full functioning Landscape in 2.5.

It's compatible with 7Zip. I've also used winrar before and not had a problem.
I dl'd 7Zip-a free dl-since it makes sense to me to use the same format. It's also what the Chef recommends.
No biggie for me.

Not speaking for the Chef btw, dunno why he uses it.

His ROM's kick arse so if he said I needed to wear a pink gorilla suit during the flash process I'd do that too.

Thanks alot .=D> I just had too download WinRaR an it came up .
