Re: [ROM] SKI-ROM Build 011010 CE OS 5.2.28011 M2.5/M2.1 - Sashimi Compliant

I can't even begin to explain how awesome this ROM really is. I have hated my phone for a while now because of the constant problems with it, and not being able to really use it as a phone, but just a txt messaging device. The past 4 days with my phone have been wonderful...to the point where I actually like my Touch Pro again.

Keep up the awesome work...as soon as I get some cashflow, I'm gonna donate. It was originally going to go to NRG, but unfortunately he just can't properly support the Touch Pro anymore. There are way too many issues with his ROM.

Unfortunately for me with the memory issues, lol I have Verizon and could give ya some specs on the performance of this rom.

I'm currently running the Max/Dusk build as my sig states. The rom runs smooth all across the board on everything I throw at it EXCEPT for the browsers while Sense 2.5 is enabled. While I remember 2.1 on other roms being about the same, I can't comment on the 2.1 build for this rom as I've not tried it yet. When I need to browse the web I usually disable Sense first to save me the memory errors.

Also its VERY important for the VZW guys to use the PagePool_Changer and change the page pool anywhere from 4mb to 8mb before flashing. The current setting is 0 which allows the OS to adjust accordingly as its needed which at times can get up to 20+mb, robbing us of all our oh so PRESCIOUS ram.

At boot I am usually left with around 25mb to 35 mb with Sense 2.5 enabled and 45mb to 55mb without. I've really felt the need for a tweak on the homescreen somewhere that will enable/disable Sense at the press of a button. Maybe that could be something I could take on with a little help from others fluent in C++ language?

Now FORTUNATELY for me with Verizon, I get excellent coverage and find myself hardly ever dropping below 60% on signal here on the Gulf Coast. "And with 5 times more 3G than AT&T" haha, my big red map stays in the way of everyone with superfast download speeds. Connections all seem to work fine with this rom. For the little memory I DO have with this version of the Touch Pro, this rom is actually really great for it. One of the best I've tried yet, (and I've tried MANY memory hogs trust me) second only to DCD's Herman Rom 2.30. While DCD's Rom provides absolutely the best performance possible in my oppinion for the Touch Pro, its also completely clean, a basline rom lacking all the excellent utilities and modifications this rom provides.

To sum it up, its WELL deserving of all the positive feedback that it CONTINUES to recieve. My only real regret is that its not my name behind it haha.

Have you tried Skyfire?
Google eats a lot of memory usually.

Re: [ROM] SKI-ROM Build 011010 CE OS 5.2.28011 M2.5/M2.1 - Sashimi Compliant

Oh Skyfire is my personal fav. I just know that Opera tends to be what most are familiar with so I often refer to it. But Skyfire is easier on memory but with us VZW guys, even that doesn't go very far when your already scraping bottom.

I absolutely loved Skyfire when I had my Titan, it was really all I'd ever use. But when I got my TP, the lack of true support for VGA discouraged me from using it so I broke up with it and ran back to Opera. Now that VGA support has been released with the 1.5 version, Skyfire and I are happily together again haha.

Yeah, Skyfire looks sexy in VGA and loaded with coolness.
