This is exactly the same problem I posted in the beginning and am having. It's a hardware issue, take it to a Sprint store and get a replacement.

I'd have to agree. There's no 4g where I am, when I turn it on it says "scanning, disconnected" nothing about"unknown."

Short of a Miracle, Number 2 is going back in about 20 minutes.

I got it back to my office and noticed it is dead. I reboot it, it shuts off after a few minutes.

It continues to shut off every 5 minutes or so.

I reset to faculty, continues.

I'm going to Odin it now just in case it's a software issue.

Not as far as I know.everyone who got the issue went to replace their phone...that said let me confirm..are you having problems with 4g connecting or 4g going unknown?

My 4G now works! I did take it into a Sprint store and they replaced it ... for $35 ... it seems that it is a hardware issue.

I had the Best Buy insurance, but with them they would give me a loaner phone while their tech support checked out the phone. I wouldn't go for that so I switched insurance.
