That is actually one of the things that is making me lean towards them NOT charging. Remember the GPS issue? I think they learned from that and with the tethering option on the Pre being free now it wouldn't make too much sense (pardon the pun) to have the option free on one phone and charge on another (just an opinion).

HTC apparently released a statement about popular android HTC devices including the Incredible saying:

I would think the Incredible would positively be up for the upgrade seeing as it was released within weeks of the OS release, and as for the time of release, I have stated before that I would be surprised to get the upgrade by the end of the year, so I'm not sweating a 'later in the year' estimate LOL!!!!

HTC has confirmed to Pocket-lint that "most phones launched this year will get an upgrade to [Android] 2.2". following the announcement that Google will be releasing the latest version of the mobile phone OS in the next couple of weeks.

also if you note on the other post i made a while back that HTC said they were working with google to bring a "full Froyo Sense experience" to the devices, which could translate into a newer version of Sense with integrated Froyo API's

while i'm not 100% familiar with rooting, coming from WinMo, with HSPL being used on that side of things.

isn't there risks involved in rooting? like bricking your phone?

can someone elaborate for us new Android users? i'll give you a cookie! (not really)

THAT MOSTLY HAPPENED TO THOSE TOO LAZY TO READ THE HOW TO's.

My friends at work who have moto droids just rooted their phones, now their loading ROMs and overclocking their phones.

Rooting on Android is not as dangerous as it was on WM. However, it is possible to brick a device so it is always best to take it easy while attempting the first time.
