Reverted to earliest Nandroid, and then to original factory .img, but still could not receive txts.
Ended up swapping for a new phone at store once all attempts to fix failed.

Do you believe the 1.3 version of MoDaCo may experience this same issue?
I can swap the phone for free at the local Sprint store until my 30-day grace period is over. It's not long off.
Thanks for the input.
It's pretty much impossible for a (working) rom to cause that. Especially if you went back to a nandroid backup from before the issue occurred. Either your phone was messed up or it wasn't provisioned properly in the first place. There's no reason you should experience that issue on this rom though. Good luck!

Update went very smooth from version 1.2c to 1.3. Took only 7 minutes total.

Actually I had the same issue with texting on my phone before root ever came out. There was an issue with the 1.29 rom and sprint hero hardware that would prevent you from getting text messages. Once a certain flag was set in the phone this would happen and there was no way to reset it. I had my phone replaced and I've reflashed it probably 50 times testing roms and changes to this particular rom without a hiccup. You should be safe.

He probably meant rosie is faster. This version (if I recall) has had the backgrounds stripped out which saves an additional 5mb or so off of rosie's size. Some people have said they feel it switches between screens faster.
