Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.3.3 Custom ROMs | GingerBread 4.12.651.1 | *Updated 6/3/11*

ok. Finally rooted and flashed OMJ last Tuesday. Of course, there's a new version now.

How do I flash the new version while keeping all of my settings and apps?

Thanks. I know this is probably a new guy question.

Yeah start fresh cellmod. Everything will run smoother.

@OMJ? I've definitely noticed that v1.03 from Mik is much snappier than v1.00. He's got pretty much all the bugs figured out on this one. My EVO has never been happier. Only problem is I feel like I'm cheating on you with Mik! Lol.

Any update from the OMJ camp coming soon?

Make sure you use amon_ra recovery to do a complete wipe. Wipe everything but the SD card x2. Do you use Titanium Back up? The only thing I back up is my apps. Each update they put out is a complete rework, so you might experience bugs in the ROM if you start restoring your phone's settings. It takes a little more time, but it's worth it.

I re-flashed using the instructions in this post ( xda-developers - View Single Post - [ROM] - [MikRoms] - [6/7/2011] - MikG v1.03 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0 ) and it looks like it fixed the problem.

I also switched to Amon Ra Recovery and I didn't restore all my apps with TB, I re-downloaded most of them and used TB to restore data for some apps that I didn't feel like setting up again.

clockwork mod is what is causing most of the issues in these roms. You guys still on it need to make the switch to amon_ra. You can flash the alternate recovery right from clockwork mod.

Any app do this besides RomManager? RomManager will do it if I had the paid version, but don't feel like paying for it.

Yes. Here is the thread at xda. The bootloader way is the next easiest. Either way, you have to do it. Otherwise you'll just have more issues.

The free version should do it as well ... It for some reason is grayed out on first run just close rom mgr and run again and flash alt recovery should be available

This is how I did it. Free version worked for me. Not sure if clockwork changed that feature or not. Thanks Vancer.
