Flash alternate recovery in clockwork mod. That will change your recovery over to amon_ra. It's what everyone is using now. Complaints are that clockwork doesn't wipe properly.

Flash over to amon_ra and then get in to recovery the old fashioned way. vol down power button. Did you put vr superwipe on your sd card? If so, flash that zip every time before you flash a new rom. It's a program that wipes your system x3.
