I swear there weren't that many steps when I followed it before I flashed this latest rom. I think someone should edit out the other posts with incorrect steps. Don't want someone else following them. |

Re: [4-18-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre5][1.0]
Some of the steps are optional, ie nandroid backup but they are very highly recommended.
The ##gpsclrx# fix is only if you have GPS issues in GB. You need to be in a sense rom for it to work. It will not work without sense. After you do the above, you flash the ROM first then reboot the phone. Reason you reboot the phone first time around is to let the phone "settle" in first. Once you are log into your phone, reboot it into recovery mode. Now back in recovery mode you flash your kernel. Once you do that you follow the steps of rebooting the phone normally, and once your phone is booted, reboot into recovery again. Now before you reboot you can set up your wireless network first. I do this because my data and apps info is backup by google. Once I install GAPPS it will want to download all the apps I had before. If you have a lot, it can take a long time, hence wifi to speed things along. Now once you are back in recovery mode, install the latest gapps available and restart your phone. Now your phone will setup your account, etc. The market place will want to download a your prior apps. Once EVERYTHING is done, I always do the following: FIX PERMISSION in ROM Manager. Once you run it and it is finish, reboot for a final time and you should be good to go. If you install new apps, you should always fix permissions. Hope that helps in the explanations.

Download tiamat's EVO sbc kernel...make sure you download the EVO as he has several kernels for different phones.

Re: [4-18-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre5][1.0]
Well after re-downloading the kernel and making sure I followed the steps everything seems to be working. I used titanium backup for apps, so i am about to run that.

Re: [4-18-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre5][1.0]
cool... Titanium is pretty useful... Once you run that, I would again run the permission fixes. Always run permission fix after restoring stuff, installing new apps, or kernels.
Better to be safe than have a headache. |

Re: [4-18-11][ROM] gingerbread-evo-deck [pre5][1.0]
Couple of issues to report...i'm sure its been addressed...
WiMax...radio will turn on...but shuts itself back off. I was driving through a KNOWN 4G area...and it refused to lock. Driving Navigation (audio) does not play while another audio app is running (TuneIn Radio) Think this one was mentioned before. Am running Pre5 with Tiamat SBC
