Re: [ROM] 10/27/10 | SPRINT LOVERS | 2.2 | 3.30.651.2 | Radio/Wimax/PRI All-In-One
Did the latest all-in-one update last night - and this being my very first custom ROM being used, I am very impressed. I had been looking for fixes for a couple of things that stopped working after rooting using the unRevoked 3.21 method (SprintTV, NFL Mobile videos). All the options I had considered were more complicated, so I was excited that someone had taken the time to create a custom "stock" ROM that keeps the Sprint "bloatware" intact. Nice job!
The only issue I have noticed, and I can't say it definitively yet, is that the battery life seems slightly lower. I started from a full charge this AM around 8am, and as I write this, the battery is currently at 61%, which seems lower than it had been before the update. I'll report more on it over the next few days. |

My experience with the battery on Sprint Lover's ROM is better than what i had on Stock ROM. While on Stock ROM i would leave home for work on a full charge for 10hrs then come back home with 30%-40% battery life left before i recharge my phone which is kinda okay. But on Sprint Lover's ROM, today I left to work on 96% (was not fully charged in time) 10hrs later i come home with 60% battery life left. Big difference there and i use my phone moderately between breaks and off work. Remember if you want to improve battery life try using ATK (Advanced Task Killer) to kill off on-going apps in the background. It really helps. Overall the battery life on the EVO is not that bad as i thought it would be.

ATK is a placebo, it doesn't do much for battery life at all. There are 1000's of posts on the benefits or deficits of using a Task Killer.

Can someone explain to me the purpose of a nandroid backup; i.e., is it simply an image of your phone in whatever state it is in, including apps, settings etc, at the time the backup is done? And, that image, can be restored from 'recovery mode?'

Prior to installing this custom ROM, I had wiped my phone as suggested. My question now, after installing the custom ROM and creating my nandroid backup is as follows: There are folders on my SD card containing data for apps that I had on the phone prior to wiping, that I may or may not re-install. Is it safe to manually delete these files/folders....(i.e. files for the NY Times app or the nook app....)?
