Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v4.2 | FroYo 3.70.651.1 | *Updated 12/21/10*

I want to flash 4.2 but I'm not to sure since it seems people are having problems with the updated radios and 4g. Anyone having issues with this?

Just updated to the most recent version of this rom (v4.2) and now I can't get my 4G to connect. Antenna turns on and scans, but then just goes to "disconnected." I can't access any of the options from the settings menu. My wife's stock EVO can connect to 4G with strong signal, but I got nothing.

I've verified that I still have my RSA keys through the Terminal Emulator method. Updated my profile and PRL post flash. Hardware Info: HW version 0002, 4G MAC address is listed as "unavailable." Thought that might be weird. Don't know what other info would help diagnose my problem. I tried flashing the new Radio/WiMax/PRI combo, but that didn't help. Radio 2.15.00.11.19, WiMAX 27167_R01, PRI version 1.90_003, PRL Version 60674. Anything else you'd need to know to attempt to help out?

Admittedly, I never was able to connect to 4G before flashing to v 4.2. However, I was on an old version of OMJ that I thought maybe didn't support 4G yet.

Thanks for any help.
what it sounds like has happen, you messed up you wimax encription for some time now and never repaired it, there is a thread that shows/instruct how to repair it, complete that process and reflash everything (do a complete wipe before installing rom)then try restore connection with ##786#.
good luck

if people are having problems with radio and 4g the problem was always there, you need to have the latest radio, wimax to be on the latest update anyway...

Just to clarify, I went from bone stock to the first OMJ rom with froyo (can't remember the version #). Completely wiped (twice). At that point the antenna wouldn't even turn on, but I let it go because Minneapolis didn't have 4G yet. I flashed to 4.2 (again, completely wiped prior to flashing) hoping to fix the problem. Now the antenna will turn on, but won't connect.

So I should repair the encription first and then to the wipe and reflash? Should I reflash calk's Radio/Wimax/PRI combo pack with OMJ 4.2, or would an earlier version of any of these work better until I figure out what's wrong?

Thanks again, and Merry Christmas everyone!

I think that the combo you flashed should have been the one's that were with the actual rooted roms. So flashing the latest combo might mess up for someone on an earlier rom. I could be wrong though. someone correct me if i am.

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.2 Custom ROM v4.2 | FroYo 3.70.651.1 | *Updated 12/21/10*

I flashed my wifes Evo to 4.2 from 4.0 and also flashed the radio combo. I did a NAND backup and all. After flashing without a problem, I realized I forgot to use TB for the apps and had already erased the TB file on her SD card so I could have a fresh file.

I tried to do a restore and got stuck on the first screen. I did a complete wipe and still nothing, still stuck. I reflashed 4.2 and took no problem and radios were already there too. Im wondering if the framework from 4.2 is causing the issue with using NAND restore. Should I flash back to 4.0 and try from there to go into recovery and NAND restore? Kinda at a loose, my wife has some saved stuff so Im trying to get her stuff back. I also realized I havent updated her Amon to 1.8 yet so Im wondering if that might have something to do with it also. Thx

if anything a pen and paper is your friend. to let you know 4.2 is the new update and framework which is 3.70 and the 4.0 is from the 3.30 id backup if I'm not mistaken so a nand backup will not work because yoiu have a different frame base and radio etc.....
hope this helps

no there is a thread thats states how to repair your WiMax, you need to read that thread and repair your wimax connection from there not just flashing a radio wimax combo, that alone will not fix it....
hope this helps

I'll try the backup to 4.0 and try from there.
