Yes, if you are doing a Factory reset before flashing the kernel that would wipe out wireless tether among other apps. (anything you or OMJ installed in Data/app would be wiped)
You should not need to wipe at all before flashing a kernel-I never do.
If you wanted to be extra cautious you could wipe Cache and Dalvik but NOT Data.

Hey Iknowsquat... Im in tampa, by town and country area...

Back when we were on ver 3.26 and a different pri... I use to get 4g signal, here and there depending where i was at.. but after the pri update and then ver 3.29 and 3.30.. it all stopped...
I keep the 4g notification on, It always pops up showing 4g available, but doesnt connect... hmmmmm...
this is tampa, and in oldsmar....
I was just wondering if u had any idea about what can stop me from physically connecting to the 4g...

Howdy Neighbor! I'm up in Northdale. I get strong 4G up and down Dale Mabry. Haven't been over to your area to test. You may need to update/refresh your wimax. Try the latest radio and wimax from here:

:headbang: It's working Bro! Too bad I was only able to pull down 3.28Mb/s but I only had one bar on 4G at the moment. I know the speeds should be better-will test more when I can get a better signal.

NP. You probably did but did you update them after your latest flash?
What kernel are you on? While I've never read about a kernel messing with 4G if you are on a modded one I'd flash back to stock to test.
Dont know what other mods you've made but if you cant get it I would nand backup, then wipe completely and flash the rom again. Dont make a single addition or mod and see if you can get a 4G signal on a "clean" install.
Good luck.

Im on OMJ deodexed 3.8, no mods, I always use the stock kernel. I even went back to 3.26 and used all the original stuff, pri, nv and wimax... I did a clean install, with no apps installed, and tried everything.. I've also used SteelH on xda's...
it will say connecting to sprint, then stay on scanning...
I will keep trying since i know everyone else's is working...](*,)
I have been trying on a clean install just to see, for the past 2 weeks,, I usually try everything I know before posting...
u da man.... thanks...

edit... just came back from dalemabry by raymond james stadium... I know theres good connection there.. tried 6 different roms... and also this fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=726877

Works. The sprint hotspot works also but it drops down to 3g. WiFi tether working with 4g.... Ohh I did have to reboot my phone after I tried hotspot and then WiFi in order for the 4g to work...

Miami 4g.. its been broadcasting downtown, now along us 1 around dadeland, pinecrest and part of palmetto bay.
