I've been using Calks Format All zip and then hitting the Dalvik wipe twice.

Yes I wipe my card EVERY time......:geek:
j/k Bro, it doesn't touch your card.
It formats boot, cache, data, and system.

Its called passphrase on the phone, but when you try to connect your laptop to your phone you have to enter that key in your network connections on your laptop so it will connect. I think the default one is abcdefghijklm

When i mentioned I talked to the Sprint tech I was just stating that there wasn't a network problem noting more. I know the sprint techs don't know anything. I was checking every possible source

I was poking fun at Sprint reps not you, just wanted to make sure you knew that very often they are clueless. I didnt want you to go through the hassel of a new ROM flash based on their assessment.

Hey Guys,

Well... FINALLY got my EVO a few days ago! :)

Been just playing around with it for about 5 days and now I'm ready to root it. Been reading but can't really tell which method to use to root it? I have installed the 3.29.651.5 update and am still totally stock. So...

Do I use this method? [GUIDE] How to root Android 2.2 on the EVO 4G - xda-developers

Or this one? **GUIDE**How to root 3.29.651.5 and have fastboot 10/06/2010 - xda-developers

This is my first non-WM phone so go easy on me for being an Android noob! What I would like to do first is simply get this totally stock rom rooted and check it out a bit. Then I'll start in with OMJ's rom and start learning how to tweak stuff.

Thanks guys!

Yeah glad to be here finally! :)

I checked out that thread and it all looked like it was older material for when the evo came out except for the part that said " How to root Android 2.2 on the Evo 4G" which took me to the thread that I first linked in my post above. I also found that other thread and didn't know which one would be better for me since I have a totally stock 3.29 phone right now?

Personally, I used the new UnrEVOked 3.21 and it was so easy it was ridiculous. Then I flashed OMJ's latest.
