Sweet. Updating now!

Is there a changelog for the kernals? I'll look at XDA as well.

Notes for Revision 4.0.3a
- An experiment of sorts, changing from the ondemand speed governor to the conservative governor (with some tweaks), in the interests of keeping good performance with less impact to battery life.
- Rewritten update scripts to hopefully alleviate the small number of people who seem to be having a problem flashing the kernel

Notes for Revision 4.0.2:
- People having stability issues with overclocking to 1152 *may* find it is a bit more stable (your mileage may vary)

Notes for Revision 4.0.1:
- Speed range should now allow underclocking to 128mhz (You may need to re-detect frequencies in setcpu)
- The Nova panel T2 register should be changeable again (for you Evo Switch/Novareq users)

Notes for Revision 4.0:
- Updated to the latest HTC released kernel sources (2.6.32)
- Camera should now be working properly
- HDMI output should be working in Froyo again

to elaborate once again on my recommendation to wipe & restore data.img, I have done this several times in the last 16 hrs, works great....the problem w/ no wiping is the possibility of data corruption.

here are some simplified steps....

-reboot into recovery, do a nandbackup

-toggle USB, copy the fresh data.img to c:\sdk\tools (or wherever your path is)

-copy new ROM to sd card

-toggle USB again

-wipe data & dalvik-cache

-flash new ROM (DONT REBOOT)

-wipe data & dalvik-cache again

-power down

-boot into bootloader

-select fastboot

-from pc (usb cable plugged in still) type... fastboot flash userdata data.img

-when finished, reboot

I will have to try this when I get home, I have spent the entire day trying to get the new PRI. At one point I even restored a version of Eclair I had backed up before Froyo was released. I am going out of my mind trying to get this to work.

1 question OMJ, is there any difference between doing an actual nanbackup and backing up using ROM Manager?

The backup is only so after we get the PRI updated we can restore our rom right? It's really the other steps that matter most to get the stupid thing to update, right?

Thanks.

yeah, the backup is only to restore when you're done.....is your phone going through the handsfree activation?

OMJ

Have had several attempts at Handsfree Activation and tried just about every recommendation...no go for PRI 1.40

Is there any possible connection to the *.img file or my location. Clockwork is showing 2.5.01 Swear I had later version before I started all this PRI update stuff. Someone also recommended older EPST version...would that screw me up in any way?

Jim
