I should have mentioned that I was having excellent battery life prior to the installation. On the EVO with the stock battery on the I had been using OMJ EVO 2.1 Eclair 1.8, and the I was using Damage Controls 3.2.3 on the EVO with the extended life battery. This sudden difference was quite noticeable.

Hey I have a question for everybody. Right now I am running OMJ's Odex 2.2 v2.1 rom with the 3.7.8b Kernel and I am wanting to upgrade to OMJ's deodexed rom. When flashing over, can I flash not to lose everything, or do I have to do a full data wipe, full delvik wipe and cache wipe? Or can I just flash on top and then reflash new kernel? Thank you in advance

The answer is....yes. ;)
You dont HAVE to wipe but it's recommended.
I would AT LEAST wipe cache (because you're prepping for the kernel) and dalvik, leaving data in place. Then flash the ROM and then the kernel.
If you see weirdness then a full wipe should fix things.

Regardless, do a nand backup first. Look into Titanium backup to save your apps and data in the event you do a full wipe.

EDIT: Just flashed the LATEST kernel (3.7.8b) without wiping over the deodexed ROM. Everything went fine. I dont recommend that, it's just that I live on the edge :geek:
Just throwing it out there.

I'm using a 3500MAH or HAM battery (mmmmm 3500 haaaaaaams) and I get 2 days with heavy useage. If I chill, it'll go 2.5 days.

Personally I don't notice battery issue because the battery came in the day I installed the ROM.

Now maybe if you tweak the settings, turn off some antennas (wireless, 4G, BT) when not in use, set the update frequency, turn the news and stocks and etc. update to manual, set the weather to every 3, 4 hours, set task killer (included in the ROM thank you) to come on every 15 minutes, the basic stuff we all already know, you should get BETTER battery life due to Froyo being a better OS (it is an OS right? Whatever the F it is it's better and more effiicient then 2.1).

I will install stock battery tomorrow when this beast battery dies.

It's cool having a THICK battery. It matches the phone more. Wide screen + thick = more sturdy feeling. No cases work which is down side.

There is a wired tether app made by the same group that makes the wireless tether app, it was working perfectly on 2.1, it requires no software on the pc, just detects as a RNDIS modem...

Taskbar mod, remove battery, clock, or both :D

I removed both, worked great. Tried just the clock but got a bad file error, could've just been my download, will test again later.

Deodexed ROM only as per the OP.

I'm running the netarchy 2.2 version and my visual voicemail won't work! Now I don't know when I have voicemail or not. I just left my one again and nothing happened. I was messing around with Titanium backup. Should I just wipe everything and re-flash?
