Thats like 3g speed on verizon, I sure hope 4g is a lot faster than that. I live in southern Cali so I have yet to have experinced 4g but im a little disappointed if thats all shes got.

Rom is awsome OMJ Thanks so much for all the hard work.

I was thinking of using ROM manager to install this Froyo release.
I've used titanium backup and also did a nandroid backup in prep.
Question, has anyone used ROM manager to do a succesfull Rom install with this release? I ususally do it in recovery mode.
I am currently running OMJ's 1.7 ROM 1.
Thanks.

I install though Rom manager and then again via recovery.

I have to agree with OMJ, those speeds are not very good. I am in Las Ve4Gas and get about 4+ on the upload. Dwnload is (as most know) capped @ 1. I definitely would update the wimax radio.

On a different note...Zone mentioned this on a tweet so I researched the links. Pretty cool "program" called "Chrome to Phone" that can "transfer" web information you find on the web right to your phone.

I posted all the info (including a Firefox add-on) here.

For those with music-streaming sounding bad I can confirm that this works to cleanup the sound. Credit goes to:

Here's what I did. For those following these steps, the file locations on your computer may be slightly different.

On Windows:
1. Open Command Prompt
2. Type cd [location of tools folder in android sdk] Example cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
3. Type adb pull /system/build.prop c:\build.prop [This will place build.prop in your C Drive]
4. Using any text editor, open the file, make the necessary change (change media.stagefright.enable-player to false), then save.
5. Type adb remount
6. Type adb push c:\build.prop /system/build.prop
7. Type adb reboot
8. After reboot to verify that it is disabled, type adb shell getprop

After a few scrolls, you will see the following:
[media.stagefright.enable-player]: [false]

This means that everything was done correctly.

Updated to v2.0. Everything seems to be working fine. I know it's a a FroYo thing but I hate how it shows me the # of texts in a thread. Everytime I get a new message it'll be in bold and I'll see the number and think I have 40 new messages, when it's just the total in that thread.

And what's this about flashing the WiMAX? Like I said I was on 1.9 before and just updated the ROM. Do I need this? My 4g seemed to be working this morning.

Wait, I thought this was the "Official rooted Sprint Froyo release"?

Isn't it?

I was getting ready to dl it, then I read this.

Also, I heard there are WiFi tether issues or that we can't do it free right now. True?
