Re: OMJ's | HTC Sense / Manila 2.5 | WM 6.5 / WM 6.5.x | 21870 / 23504 / 28002 | 11/2

Hey OMJ great rom, i really like it a lot. Here are some things that i found wrong with it, in the peoples tab when you enter the 3rd row and add someone it tends to freeze and the only way to unfreeze it is to pull the battery. One time it didn't want to access my data for some reason, i couldn't open the browser or download the weather. Another thing i found a problem at was when you delete old text messages it tends to freeze and shutting down is the only way to fix it. Those are what i found wrong so far, going to keep testing it.

Thanks a lot mate.

I have passed all the last night to try ROM and for now i think that this one is the best, but there is 2 things that could be changed to make it better.

1- Install less gadgets to get more space on the device
2- Install a task manager or switcher in the upper bar, because there is some programs that don't come back when you go in manila so there is no way to return to the program, the only thing we can do is to kill it and open it again (PowerRadio as an example)

So far this rom is one of the most up to date and stable !

1- honestly, I dont use most of the extras I have in the rom, so I wouldnt have a problem removing some of them, but I'm sure there's always someone that likes a particular app. Here I'll make a list, if no one objects, I will remove:

-windows live (I know there are alot of ppl that use this)
-windows live IM
-youtube (I know there are alot of ppl that use this)
-fm radio
-clear temp
-my phone (I know there are alot of ppl that use this)
-tellme
-audio booster
-voice recorder
-in call recorder

2- I forgot to mention, part of omnicronix's modified showcase, if you press & HOLD the start icon, the task manager will open.

Hi OMJ,

Thanks for your reply, and thanks for your trick (hold the windows key) for the extras, i would say less is better (like the extraclean rom), because it leaves plenty of place to install our things and we can customize our ROM like we want. Your ROM are very good because you put everything that is up to date !

I am looking at taking the plunge on another ROM, but I would like to know how much memory is available after a fresh install?

I'm not much of a fan of all the extra apps cooked in.

Thank you.

I am the same way, especially with the Diamonds limited memory. Just a few apps to get the job done such as Google Maps, QuickGPS and Adobe Reader. I can put all the games, Facebook, Twikini, Virtual Mobile and others to internal storage. Looks good.

I will be sure to try out if you are going with a lighter version.

Thank you.

I am using some of those, and i really don't mind if you remove some or all of them. The only advantage i see by letting them in, is that my SASHIMI store is lighter. Otherwise, i can get those apps to my SASHIMI store and install them afterwards. I like this rom very much, it's very stable (way more than the previous one i had) and i like stability. I know i am low on memory, but i can live with this.

Even though I use some of these I don't mind if they get left out providing I can find them in cab form, or if you could attach them in cab form in post #1, or reiterate how to turn them into cabs from your kitchen in post #1. In addition to the above I would also add Office Mobile. In short, I guess a number of us would like lite versions of your roms with easy access to the programs in cab form for post flash installation. Thanks for your consideration.

Yeah I guess I definitely downloaded it befor eyou repackaged it because you just mentioned something about holding down the start menu to bring up the task manager, and that doesnt work for me. What else am I missing?

Hey OMJ,

Here's another thought in line with the idea of a very standard, light, clean rom, but enitirely up to you of course. Having everything install in the regualr programs folder and then letting ppl arrange it to their own liking either with Total Commander or reStart. I know it can be arranged even with your specific folders it just makes it more standard and generic... just a thought ... (after all, you are well known for being the guy with the cleanest roms around )

While I'm at it...

This should really be in the kitchen thread so feel free to answer over there if ya want. Can you explain where these customizations happen and how I remove them? I know some of them happen in the app.dat of each ext, but i think there is also a start menu .provxml or something somewhere that I don't know how to change (this is still one of the things I have yet to learn)

Thanks!
