Re: OMJ's Custom ROM | WM 6.5 | 21870 | Manila 2.1 | 10/29/09 |

Great ROM. So far ran into two problems though:
1) Youtube isnt working for me.
2) I can't seem to switch back to the traditional sms in poutlook. Not sure if its related, but when viewing a new msg in the manila tab, the number bubble disappears as normal, but the sms icon in the top tray remains.

Chas,

Same thing happened to me....My GPS was toast. I tried everything, even reflashed stock and called Sprint CS. They were nice but no help..... I finally just flashed a new radio on Friday and GPS is working flawlessly. I guess that did it! Anyone have any theories??

Anyway, glad you got it sorted!

Thx got it! Should get the phone in the morning ... unfortunately have a busy day tomorrow

Do you know if i will need to do the two rom upgrades from the HTC site referencing the key enhancements or the internal storage hotfix? Or are these taken care of in the new SYS' that i will soon be using?

... http://www.htc.com/us/supportdownloa...act=sd&cat=all these are what I'm referring to

Thx

No sense bothering with the upgrades, if you're planning to run a custom rom. Just unlock and you're good to go. I would keep a copy of the "shipped" rom close by, just in case.

Now I guess I'm going to have to learn this Visual Kitchen you refer to and I don't even have my phone in my hands yet! hehe

Question... I know that you can't modify a custom rom when it's cooked with the PPCK like you could with a rom cooked with DogGuy's... I'm wondering if I will be able to modify your rom since you are making it with this Visual Kitchen? Not that I'm sure your rom won't be slick... you know i just like to learn this stuff and tinker with my own stuff and I always loved taking your roms as a base to remove and add to

Thanks for the warm welcome to the Diamond!

The visual kitchen has a dump rom feature, but I've havent used it on another custom rom, so I'm not sure how well it will dump, give it a try.....I dont lock my roms so your welcome to play with it.

thanks.

1. i can open youtube & click on a video, but when it starts to play, a pop-up msg says the video cannot be played. is this what you're getting?

2. i'm still new to these new features, i'm not sure how to switch back to poutlook w/o removing the manila style....i'll do some checking...i havent had the sms icon issue in the top tray.

with the size of the roms these days, it sure would be nice to have a way to just install the updates like a windows desktop does instead of downloading a new rom!!!!
