So, I don't know if its because your rom is just not that stable, but as soon as I try anything it freaks out and I have to restart. Which for some reason makes it go through the whole first start up align screen stuff. Then after that the next time I turn it off, which I will have to do almost instantly it says it can not find the skin for the finger keyboard. For some reason this deems the phone useless and I'm forced to hard reset and go through the same stuff. I really did like your rom from what I could see, but what the hecks up with that crap? lol

Did you flash to shipped before flashing to this ROM?

No I did not. Well I guess I know what to do now. What does flashing it to the shipped rom do that makes yours stable?

It's not just Gadget's roms ... nobody's exactly sure why flashing back to the "shipped" helps ... it just does. Most likely has something to do with clearing out the old files from the previous rom. By the way, make sure you flash the "shipped" (the one that includes the radio), and not just any stock rom. That should take care of your issues.

The nice thing is that calk solved the issue that requires you to flash back to shipped. Sooo hopefully the next gadgetrom will be free to flash from anything without flashing back to shipped first :D

2 questions.

1. The phone's internet connection does not work when I am charging the phone. Is this a factory setting that can be changed?

2. When using the phone as a wi-fi modem, my PS3 will not recognize it. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Well flashing to the stock rom worked like a charm, the only thing doesn't seem to be working is the gps. It wont connect to any satellites, any ideas?

Guys, just so you know, I am testing a new build today. If everything goes well across a normal business day, I'll have new versions posted tonight. (Late tonight, most likely...)

Gadget can't put the new radio in his custom rom release. they are two seperate roms. The only roms that have both the radio/main rom are shipped roms from the carriers. You can flash any radio in the this rom thread after the fact though. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=71409

Second.

A lot of popular software do not adapt 6.5.1's bottom task bar (close and confirm function well), i.e. Haali reader.....

Don't worry guys, for the foreseeable future, I am sticking with 6.5. This build is going to be 21867. Or at least it will be once I figure out what is causing an odd pop-up warning to appear after soft resets stating that the "internal memory is not available, please exit disk drive mode by disconnecting your USB connection." The problem is sometimes it's connected, sometimes it's not, and the storage is available anyway. At first I thought it was the latest version of the USB to PC pop up software, but once I reflashed to an older version of that, it still happened. Gotta be something else...

I'll keep you posted on my progress.

sounds good Gadget. I cooked up a mobile shell 21867 rom in Calcu's kitchen to try out. will let you know if I get the same error message. that one is strange.

Thanks! I've never run into anything like this. I'm wondering if is something that Calkulin just updated or something new or a combination. I'm flashing with out the Contact Picker software added right now. I'll go one by one if I need too...

You're using gen.y manila right? I've cooked one with 21867/manila and do not see the error you are getting. Are you adding anything to the EXT's? If not, I can post what I included to maybe help you narrow the issue down.

It isn't doing this to me either. I am not adding any ext packages though and used mobile shell. so far so good.

so far I like it. the new email animation is very cool. it is widget based so you can arrange them on 3 different pages. probably can do more but for now I am just doing that. I like it for a change of pace from tf although there's a ramp up and dollars at the end of the trial which I'm not sure about. I still like the 6.1 custom rom I've been using... forgot the chef's name?? :mrgreen:

I've got 4 things added that I've never run before: Contact Picker, IE6 enhancements, Messaging client, and the tweak to preload manila programs. I've removed Contact Picker and the IE6 enhancements. Same error. I'm now flashing a build with out the tweak.

I'm pretty sure it is the Messaging Client that was causing the problem. I'm not sure why, but the error message goes away with out that cooked in. I wonder if it's looking for the contact/caller id pics I keep stored in internal storage. Very weird.

Darn, was looking forward to trying out the new messaging client, oh well! Can we look forward to a release tomorrow? Would be a nice thing to come home to after my exam heh.

Has anyone been able to run Pandora on this ROM? I get the infamous Debug Assertion Failed, MS Visuall C+++ error....
Also, will you please, please, please include the FM radio in the next update? I love your rom, but I use both of these apps all the time while going for jogs!

Just a suggestion ... in the meantime, you could listen to mobile stream on Skyfire. Just look up your station's call letters, and you'll have the stream. Also, many stations broadcast directly on-line. Just use Skyfire to visit their website and look for the listen live link.

Just flashed NRG's latest, and after an hour's worth of use, going right back to this one, which i've now dubbed as "Ol' Reliable". The slow SMS Manila was again the dealbreaker, not to mention having to manually RegEdit certain settings, and deal with yet another YouTube issue, which, given the quality of his roms, should no longer be an issue in the first place....



Anxiously awaiting the latest release of this one, but currently flashing back to your 10/1!

Yes, the FM radio is in the latest build.

I got a hold of a CAB version of the messenging client and tried it out last night and this morning. It's already off my phone. It was very buggy, very slow, and ate 20% of the battery just sitting idle overnight. And it takes 6mb of space. Pass.

Gadget, is Remote Desktop disabled all together? I installed the WMRDP6 cab and it will not connect to my desktop. Will RDP be in future ROMs? By the way keep up the good work, most stable ROM I've used!

Remote Desktop will be enabled in the next version.
