I know the Opera situation has been noted a couple pages back, but i want to touch on my experiences in the last week.

I flashed to 1.7 a couple of days before 1.9 came out and loved it. however my phone broke.. $120 dollars and 24 hours later i got my replacement. After activation i unlocked and flashed straight to 1.9. After realizing that there was so many problems with texting i came back to 1.7. Now, in 1.7 on my old phone I never had a problem downloading to the internal storage when using opera. On my new phone after using 1.9 then going back to 1.7 i cannot download at all to be honest. I was just trying to dl the facebook cab from microsoft's website and it took me to a google page saying something about "space age technology thats not been adapted for your phone" Ive gotten this trying to get other cabs too.

SO, should i flash back to shipped then back to 1.7 with a hard reset in there?

BTW Gadget, your ROM is FABULOUS. I cant wait to see it without the messaging client and showcase!

I think the problem is the new Opera versions create an internal storage folder in device memory rather than allowing you to save directly to internal storage. I would flash back to shipped and Gadget mentioned a new version is coming out. He may revert back to another version of Opera, or you can install another version post flash. Opera 15613 works well as do many other 9.5 versions. Personally I would just leave opera out, and that way people can install the one of their choice but I will roll with whatever GF decides.

I really like the way the new opera in 1.9 worked. but the one in 1.7 is just fine too. Ive not really cared either way. I just hate IE.

If the internal storage folder in device memory is the root problem, could i flash to shipped, deleted that folder, then flash to 1.7 again?
**EDIT*** i never had the problem in 1.7

Anyway ill probably wait until he releases the new one.

sure. just delete the internal storage folder in device memory. just make sure you delete this one and not the internal storage :) it wont hurt anything. Good luck.

I'll be going back to Opera 9.5 for the public release. I really like 9.7 and they have made a lot of improvemenmts to the latest version, but not being able to put the cache and downloads onto the Internal Storage drives me nuts. I'll also be putting Import IE Faves back into the customizations to deal with bookmarks for Opera...

I saw that, I'm going to hold off a bit and wait and see what issues pop up first and if there are any WWE/CDMA issues too. Shouldn't take too long.

I think that's exactly the right approach to take. Similarly, I've been waiting for your next release to move away from my Bonsai rom. Although it's been working well, I prefer roms with continuing support and with chefs who actually have and use the phone they are providing roms for. Finally, I will be donating once I port to your rom.

GadgetFreak, I love your ROM. My wife has a Diamond and I have a Touch Pro.

I really, really like the way it is skinned, the only exception is the 2 rows of Icons on the start menu but I will get over that.

Since you are using Calk's Kitchen, would it be that hard to build one with a COM3/COM4 for the Touch Pro?

(Chinglish Voice) You do have a strong Kung Fu and I believe the Eye Candy is really, really you like.(/Chinglish Voice)

Regarding the start menu, here is a great thread that gives you the option to change the start menu from 3 to 4 ,5 and 6 columns. Cabs are available as well!

Re: 10-30 | ROM | WM 6.5 | Rhodium 2.1 || GadgetROM v1.9 || 21869 Halloween Edition

Been running this rom for a few hours and its very solid. I noticed that the option to search other folders in tf settings>wallpapers is gone but this may be a benefit. What I ended up doing is grabbing the few wallpapers I actually use and dump them into the correct folder to use them. By not searching these folders, I probably saved 4-5mb of space since the album cache is not saving to device memory each time I check a folder. So thanks Gadget! Messaging (text & email) are working great as is the dialer. only thing I would change is removing windows live completely since the one in the rom only has live and not messenger so I ended up installing the whole cab over top to get messenger. it's up to you but I think many of us will end up doing this so it takes up another 2mb of space. Great rom, take it easy Gadget. Everyone I know is getting sick.

I did install the 4 columns, it didn't work but I am sure that was my face plant. I will figure it out, no worries.

But, I really, really like the customizations, but I am not sure where to find all of the customizations. It would be really kewl for to have these in Calk's kitchen.

Going to head on a quest for the background and slider that he used.

no, I tried Start>settings and no soft reset, also went into tf settings, selected customize tabs and wallpapers and no soft reset. I did however have a strange soft reset earlier while using opera mini. it just soft reset but hasn't since.

I'm uploading a slightly tweaked version of 1.95 for Sprint. I've removed Windows Live, added the FM radio and fixed the Start Menu. If this one checks out okay, I'll get the other carrier versions built and get the links changed in the first post.

Re: 10-30 | ROM | WM 6.5 | Rhodium 2.1 || GadgetROM v1.9 || 21869 Halloween Edition

I flashed both my wife's and my phones with 1.9 and we both used for several hours on Sunday night.

The only problem I was having was with Google Maps. On the first occasion it locked up on me when trying to acquire the GPS signal and on the 2nd time I tried using it, an automatic soft reset occurred. Any one else see any problems with Google Maps?

My wife Diamond Tweaked her phone some. Somewhere in the process, her start menu stopped refreshing completely; i.e., it was leaving ghost images of varying intensities on the screen as she would scroll up and down. All of the other panels (Today, Messaging, Programs, etc.) were fine while scrolling. Any suggestions on this front?

Finally, I couldn't find the Microsoft My Phone app. Not a big deal though since the cab is easily obtainable.

Otherwise, a very, very solid and well performing rom. The battery life seemed pretty good to both us, with the exception of when I was fiddling with Google Maps. Then it was draining very quickly, but I explained that to some kind of polling that was going on with the GPS?

I must say excellent work overall Gadget!

Nice stable update, and good call on taking out the Messaging client for now, at least until it's refined. I tested out OMJ's ROM while waiting on your update, and the client worked pretty well in his build, so it'll be good to see if you add it back in a future version.

Did notice that the "Camera" program is missing in this version (unless I'm just completely blind), but no major setback, I'll just use the Album as a go-around. :mrgreen:

I'll be honest and say I really haven't looked at it that hard because of all the issues with it. I've read too many reports of people getting weather for cites hundreds, if not thousands of miles away. If some one wants to post up a link or a version that works with Manila 2.1, I'll take a look at it, but unless it works perfectly, I'm not inclined to included it.
