I got that far with 21215 too, then I gave up.

I haven't read through your thread, so this might have been pointed out already. However, if it hasn't, I would not enable LZW compression unless you are really really in need of space. LZW compression is load time compression. meaning, the OS will decompress the file when it is needed. This will increase actual process time. So, you gain space, but lose speed. I would definitely advise against enabling LZW unless you really need to space. Just me.

Yes, you pay a penalty to load programs because it has to uncompress before running the program. There is another *minor* performance hit too when creating the ROM, I noticed it took a minute or so more.

Re: ervius Kitchen 6.5 for CDMA Diamond - SYS 21501, 21502, & 21215

May 5, 2009 Update -

Updated kitchen to ervius 7.7 and added 21222 SYS. So far, the only problem I have with this SYS is HTC Youtube erroring with the error message "Cannot play this video." If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. Could it be missing a Codec?

It seems to only add extra time in opening apps, but once the apps are running speed seems stable.

There are a bunch of dlls in the browsing folders that need recmod. Here are the files to convert:

I have not done any in depth testing with 21502... it's basically copied over from Da_G's kitchen on XDA and setup for this kitchen.

I'll take a look... I think most of dlls the browsing folders that I have are already recmod from Da_G. I updated some of the OEMs last night with newer versions as well (Streaming, etc.)

Thanks for the tip.

Re: ervius Kitchen 6.5 for CDMA Diamond - SYS 21502 & 21222

May 5, 2009 - Update

Uploaded new kitchen...
  • Youtube videos are now playing thanks to Indagroove's tip a few messages ago.
  • Removed SYS 20764, 21215, and 21501 files to make kitchen smaller. I'm running 21502 right now with no problems so far (knock on wood).
  • Updated some of the Ext Packages with newer versions.
  • Updated kitchen to Ervius 7.9
Link to Kitchen

I'm thinking of putting this kitchen on a Source Code Repository so that people could check-in and check-out changes. This would mean that when you wanted to update your kitchen with the latest, it would only download the changed files instead of having to download the whole kitchen, unpack, etc. Code.google.com supports the SVN (SubVersion) commands, that's where I'll probably put it. I just need to see if the .svn or _svn files will cause problems with compiling ROMS.

Re: ervius Kitchen 7.9 for CDMA Diamond - SYS 21502 & 21222

Thanks for all the work you've done with this, Daryelv. I'm getting closer and closer to cooking a stable rom, but I still can't quite seem to do it yet. My current problem is getting rhodium manila working... using your included ext packages, it's very buggy, crashing in the contacts and threaded texts. Trying to use my old oem with this kitchen crashes platformrebuilder.exe during the build process. Anyone else try rhodium manila and have this issue?
