Re: [1/1/09] Blue ROM v1.7 NOW FOR SPRINT & TELUS! (CE OS 5.2.20954, Build 20954)

And again, but one question: how do I get Google Maps to stop looking for a netwrok connection and just load the maps?

You seem to have a way of stumping me with these things!

I've never had issue with Google Maps finding a connection. Have you checked the applications forum of the website? I'm sure you're not the only one who hasexperienced that, but I've never seen or heard of it.

Sorry I couldn't help more on this one.

I haven't checked it but I will. I wasn't clear enough. GoogleMaps can load its data then seeks a satellite connection outdoors; takes awhile but it's free.

Thanks for your reply.

Machold-Blue 1.9 running very well; I have the impression the battery doesn't last as long as it did in 1.7. My imagination or is it so?

Thanks again.

Battery does have a shorter life.

Thanks again.
Got Google going; installed the cab in my internal storage; removed the program; reset; installled from google online (but I'm not sure what that did because I couldn't find the prog anywhere); then re-installed the cab. All is ok.

I did notice that the longer I used it, post-flash, the better the battery life go.

Anyway, future ROMs from me will all have better battery life, as some of the leaked-ROM components have had a positive affect.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to your next dish...

I did a stupid thing and tried another ROM (you can get hooked on flashing); I won't name names but it did a number on my phone; it seemed to work and then, hours later it went wonky. The phone would hang on the first screen; a hard reset (hard to do) got me to CMONEX, but I couldn't sync; then some kind soul explained this was bootloader mode, sync or no sync. I tried to re-flash machold Blue, but the update utility stopped at 2% to tell me it cold not update my phone. I took it back to the provider who replaced it. it seems the Touch Diamond has hard reset problems.

Thanks again

Wow! Sounds like a pain. Of course, it is possible to get a bad flash with any ROM, but I think we tend to take it for granted when we do it 100 times with no issues. I'm actually quite surprised this doesn't happen to more of us, more often. Anyway, don't blame the chef, stuff happens!

Thanks again for being loyal to Blue ROM!

Kinda like macBlue! Alles ist in Ordinung. Thanks.

I've learned that you can't hook up with Active Sync if it can't recognize WMobile because of corrupt files, and even when in bootloader mode, the update utility can't go far if it doesn't find the files it needs

I had a small problem with my new phone when I tried to flash macBlue: it wouldn't go past a certain point. I had unlocked the phone and Cleared the Storage, then flashed and got stopped. Fortunately, I had the HTC update, it flashed without problems, then I flashed macBlue. I think the instruction to reset the phone before you flash a new ROM may not be the best advice. Duuno.

It's true, bad flashes do happen I once had a known working Juicy ROM hang on boot screen after flash, then forced to bootloader mode and reflashed the same rom which worked just fine.

What I don't understand is why Machold keeps flashing to outdated ROM versions. Not trying to be mean here, just don't get it..
