Re: [02-01-09] nTT ROM v2.0D [Sprint, UC, GSen Rotate, Haptic Feedback] [CE OS 5.2.20

Got a few additional reports from beta testers that I'm trying to get fixed. I didn't get a chance to work on this all week until today and I stuck on a few snags. Trying to get this out sometime tonight as promised, but I think this may get pushed back until tomorrow.

Stay tuned.

Re: [02-01-09] nTT ROM v2.0D [Sprint, UC, GSen Rotate, Haptic Feedback] [CE OS 5.2.20

Hi NTT, I'm now using the leaked sprint rom v 2.00...with some tweaks. I'll probably try your NTT Rom 2.0D once released as it sounds promising. (NO RUSH!)

I'm experiencing these SMS issues with the leaked ROM...just wondering if you also noticed these bugs and if so if you're trying to rectify them in your Rom?
  • keyboard not always automatically shown when you reply
  • sometimes first letter doesn't get entered, sometimes thread showing older msgs (with a "newer" link) for no apparent reason
  • new msgs notification (the yellow circle on the TF3D icon) often persists after i've already read the new text messages.
I see "Manila SMS Delete" is included but I couldn't find what that means.

1 - Yeah, thats not a bug, I tweaked it to behave like that on purpose. It was very annoying when you would tap a text box in a web page my acciddent and have the keyboard open randomly. I prefer to open and close manually and that behavior will remain in my ROM for the foreseable future. Its a simple registry tweak. Once I get the chance I'll look it up, you can just edit that out if you don't want it. Later tonight when I get some time I'll post up that tweak along with the updated ROM hopefully.

2 - That is already fixed in 2.0 final.

3 - A "yello circle"? Did you install a Sprint Manila cab over the included Manila? That could be the cause of the issue. If not, just try hovering over the text message you haven't "read" in Manila for a few seconds and the notification should clear itself.

Manila SMS delete refers to the "Delete" option being part of the SMS Tab's Menu, its included by default in the Manila version that comes in the ROM, again if you installed another manila cab over what the ROM comes with its probable that the new Manila you installed overwrites this option.

Thanks for your reply NTT!

Re #1 & 2: sounds great!

Re #3: I'm on the sprint leaked 2.0 ROM and I used the OMJ_ManilaCustomizer app to replace the icons to the regular grey ones. To be specific, sometimes I get new messages while in the Text Messages app and I'm reading them as they come into the thread (as opposed to viewing them in Touchflow)... Then when i go back to touchFlow I have a bunch of unread messages and if I hover over each one of them for a few seconds it clears but it's annoying and time consuming.

Re: [02-01-09] nTT ROM v2.0D [Sprint, UC, GSen Rotate, Haptic Feedback] [CE OS 5.2.20

I feel like the most irresponsible person here leaving you guys behind. Hope you guys understand that I'm still in my finals (hell week) and I've been having hell in the office as well (multiple calls with server outages and such). I haven't uploaded what I have done yet because I want this to be as perfect as possible. What I'm missing from my task list is the following:

1 - Slide 2 Answer Phone Canvas (haven't done any testing with the OEMs I have available yet, if anyone can chime in with which of the posted S2A phone canvas is working the best so that I may use it as a baseline I'd gladly appreciate it!)
2 - Finish Organizing the Start Menu in folders like I want it. I already got all the info I need to do this, its just one of those very easy but tedious and time consuming tasks which requires multiple flashings to test and verify that its just right.
3 - I can't get the USB to PC Icon to appear in the control panel after all the OEM changes and updates I did and I've tried a couple things already. Probably something really stupid I'm overlooking somewhere, if anyone can also offer any ideas on where to look I'd greatly appreciate it. As I said I've tried a few things but none of them have worked, just need a different perspective to solve this particular problem.

Stability has been GREAT, performance has been fenomenal, ringtone bug is non-existant, SMS bugs are non-existant, T9 bug (first lettter getting deleted) is no where to be found, YouTube has worked perfectly every time, same with Sprint TV, battery life has been good as well.

Things to note though:
1 - I removed the custom battery icon all together and left it OEM (4 bars), if you want a custom battery meter, install your own.
2 - A few of the beta testers have reported Picture Mail is not working when installed into the 2.0D Beta and after all the changes I've made thanks to beta tester input I haven't tested Picture Mail myself, so I'd like to test Picture Mail as well before releasing to get that working as well.

Its been 90% done for a week now, lots of things at the office are holding me back from finishing the release and uploading it.

It will be up as SOON as I can take a few hours out to complete it and upload it. Sorry for the delays guys!

This one looks really cool. Any progress on it? The download links are both broken on the first page for version 1.

Thanks!

Unfortunately I stopped development for the ROM over a year ago. I've since switched to a Palm Pre. Still have my Diamond to play with the latest WinMo ROMs though.
