Today is the first time I did any unlocking and flashing to my phone. Ive tweaked with cabs and stuff. But today I got brave and unlocked my phone and flashed the ROM with the cool taskbar icons. I dont have anything to compare this ROM to since its my first, but man its like a totally different phone. Great work!! Thank you! This is definitely a keeper!

:D Glad you guys like your new phone! I've always liked a stock look, but I'm really diggin the custom taskbar icons too....I'm running my phone just as the screenshot in post #1 appears, w/ the black background.

all the added apps are listed in post #1....I used to have a post that described each app, I'll see if I can find.

not sure why it would have disappeared but you can re-enable by going to settings/system/task manager/button check the box next to "enable quick menu on today screen"

lol - seasoned enough now (been on PocketPC for 9 years) to not waste time on stock ROM.. actually I missed 2 trains to have your ROM installed.

It might be just my Diamond (feel like shortening tht name - like Dimo... perhaps) but I feel that the navigation button/pad is not behaving well, i.e, it does not move left/right fast enough (or sometimes not at all) on the Today screen to move from tab to tab. Also when in Messaging, it does not move to next messages etc :(

Does anyone else experience the lag... ?

First off, thank you for this rom. It runs smoothly and i'm really liking it and so do the guys at work (I'm a tech at a Sprint repair store). We don't really do much with customizing phones because we always see the after math of what happens when you mess up a phone. I've been the most daring and have tried a couple rom's and keep experimenting. Might even make my own rom one of these days, who knows.

The one thing that i wanted to do is increase the speed that my contacts scroll. I got used to how fast it was when i was using mighty rom and wanted to see if i can get it to work that fast on your rom too. I don't know where to find the setting or how to change it if it can be at all. I haven't done much with custom roms or any other customizing for that matter, so i'm not really sure what to do.

Thanks for any help y'all can provide.

OMJ, have you tried out this Manilla Customizer? I think I like it a little better for themes than TF3D config. It's more like HHC Customizer you used to have in your Touch ROM's...

good to see a sprint techie on here.....i'm not sure what Mighty is using for his contact scroll, I'll see what I can find.....if u find out let me know....you could try sending him a pm.

I see what ya mean.....it's like that in Opera too. it's possible it's the version of TouchFlo I'm using, but maybe there's a reg tweak.

Anyone else having problems getting to Sprint Music Store after going to v5? I didn't have any problems up through V3, but I lost my phone. When I flashed my replacment with v5 I keep getting redirected when launching the music store.

Any suggestions?

are you just wanting a sprint based rom or are you wanting the official sprint rom?

are you returning the phone?

just need more details on what you are trying to accomplsih.

when u download & extract a custom rom, put your phone in bootloader mode (power+vol DN+soft reset), then connect usb cable, then run the romupdateutility.exe, follow instructions.

if u are trying to flash the official sprint to get it back to stock, download this file & run it while the usb is connected:

ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Diamond/Users/..._1.44_Ship.exe

Hmm, I tried flashing the custom icon ROM and I'm getting the same problem I had before. I'm going to revert to stock again, to see I can get to the music store at all.

Hopefully it will work and I can go back to v5.

Thanks for replying about the scroll speed. I'm still pretty new about this, but i'm going to be playing with the registry the next couple days and see what happens. I don't know what alot of the stuff in the registry does, but if i mess anything up, i can always just hard reset or reflash the rom again.

I have tried a couple of updates of Mighty's and Juicy's roms and your latest rom in the last couple weeks. Getting good at flashing this thing now. It's like they say; no guts, no glory, right? :)

OMJ - my phone did not wake up this morn for my 5:30 alarm :) I know it has been discussed before somewhere... but wanted to make sure that I bring it to your attention.

Given that the reset button is not easily available without opening back cover ;)... only two things that werechanged yesterday

1. I installed Oxios and
2. While trying SprintTV it installed new version

Both of above I installed on Internal Memory.

I've heard a couple things...Some are saying it won't work if the alarm is set to vibrate. I thought the fix was the following regedit (from g-alarm - their "windows alarm bug") But at about that time I found the vibrate fix....But since then I just have used g-alarm and haven't looked into it any further. I can play any mp3 from internal storage, it makes me do simple math to make sure I'm up, and there's nothing like some loud annoying KennyG saxaophone to get you outta bed!

And here's the edit:
;Fix windows alarm. according to g-alarm folks...
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Power\Timeouts]
"BattResumingSuspendTimeout"=dword:00000078
"ACResumingSuspendTimeout"=dword:00000078

When you have the phone in bootloader mode and have the rar file on your computer, does it open automatically when you connect the usb cable?

no, 1st you need to extract the files from the .rar....download WinRAR....once you extract the files, you will see the romupdateutility.exe, run it whil you rohone is in bootloader connected to pc.

I've been running the stock Sprint ROM since I got my Diamond a couple weeks ago and i'm thinking about trying this out since it is one of the few that retains the original Sprint look (icons, etc). I've heard a lot about the performance boost with the Juicy ROM. I'm assuming this ROM has a good performance increase from stock also? This is really the only reason i'm looking at trying a custom ROM at this point. Some of the sluggishness is starting to annoy me.

I've tried them all and OMJ's ROM's continue to be the fastest, smoothest and most trouble free. EVERYTIME I try someone else's 'new' one I am disappointed and sheepishly revert back his. Good luck and MERRY XMAS TO ALL!!!

Hi, does anyone have an analog clock installed on this rom? I've tried both Uniqueboy and Pamas analog clock, and home page looks great, but on every other TF3d page, there is a white square in the upper right hand corner. Goes away after I unistall the clocks. Would really love an analog clock, so if anyone has any advice, it would be great appreciated!!!

TIA :)

OK I searched a different way and found out the white squares may be a clock clash in the manila files..I have the manila files for the clock I want, can I just copy and paste them into one of the manila folders? Or do I need to download and install the manila customizer? Looking for the easiest way..

Thanks again :)

yes, my rom will improve performance.....I totally agree, the stock sprint rom is very sluggish, that was the main reason for building a custom rom.

disable TouchFLO in the today setting screen, then copy the manilla files to \windows, then re-enable TouchFLO
