Re: [ Jan 11 \ OS 5.2.21109 v4.1 ] Calkulin's Kitchen v1.3, ROMs & Cabs

This may or may not be helpful, but I have no problem with ringer or youtube. I also use no manila. I had issues with bluetooth in 4.1, so I'm hoping 4.2 fixes it.

well not sure what cooked them in, there are so many diff choices we can make, but one of those entries fixed my problem. I disabled one and enabled the other... then reset... prob could not hurt to try.. takes a lot less time then cooking a new rom let me tell ya...lol

the only BT probs I have had it seems are related to s2u2... I only use a hands free kit though.

the youtube issue have been intermittant for me... sometimes will play sometimes not... it almost feels like there is a codec or driver sometimes interfering with it.

the incoming ring was most likely my fault because if all the tweaks I did. not sure though and I am really just happy that changing those REG entries fixed it for me.

if I load up youtubeplay... everything is fine and youtube videos can be played through that software. the regular youtube must have a dependency that is getting fubared by something that I am cooking in religiously. I started seeing the problems when I shifted to 4.1... never tried just cooking one up with no manila... don't know much at all about these things so troubleshooting is a nightmare.

BTW do you think your battery is better skipping the manila files as you do?

I don't think manila affects the battery life too much. I get about 2 days with maderate use. I mostly read news, watch a couple videos, 20 or 30 texts and a few calls of a minute or 2 each day. I just never cared for TF3D. It looks cool, but I like the old SPB Pocket plus and Phone Suite.

My ringer is working perfect, but youtube is not. i am going to try cooking in voip and see if it makes a diff.

Youtube opens and then I get the error - cannot play this video.

Yeah, I just noticed I am also getting the YouTube error with my 4.1 build, although I did not have it on any previous build. Seems strange that voip would affect it, but plz let us know your results. Calc said previously that YouTube is a very picky app.

There's no question that you will get better battery if you don't use TF3D. It's a graphics intense program, and takes plenty of RAM too. This all takes power, AKA battery. How much?? It's tough to say for sure..

I was just reading over on the JMZ thread that there is a problem with the slide to answer causing data to not disconnect. Anyone that recently started using slide to answer getting this problem?

Im having this exact issue, my data connection never stops once connected. But it also did it with Calcs v4.1 and v4.2, but if I changed the SYS to 19974 with v4.1 the problem goes away.

Does anyone know how to change/fix this with a registry setting or something? Im pretty sure this is killing my battery. Thanks in advance.
