Re: [ 10-13 ][ v4 ][ 6.5.1 / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen & ROMs

Hi Calcu, I noticed a couple issues post flash when flashing from one custom to another that lead me to believe flashing to shipped is still the only way to get a perfectly clean start. First time I flashed GadgetFreak's 6.5 rom coming from a cooked 6.1 rom in your kitchen and active sync would lock up each time I tried setting up exchange mail. Also, last night I flashed from one cooked calcu 6.1 to another cooked calcu 6.1 and opera today kept crashing. Strange since I normally don't get these types of issues at all. Also, I decided to flash shipped, then flash GF rom again and exchange/a sync worked fine. Just wanted to see if anyone has experience this? Anyways, the kitchen is great and really enjoying it.

What Radio are you running?

I am getting 'normal' battery life with 23064, Spb and Radio 1.11.00F.

I am running the same radio. I am using the non SPB 23064 (Manila 2.1 and Titanium).

Can you check your fdcsoft task manager and see which processes are running? There's got to be an explanation, because too many of us are experiencing normal (for these devices) battery usage.

He even released a patch to play nice with the new builds. Only problem is you cannot use previous skins made for the tachi port. Its not totally done yet, but at least the main functionality is there. (the swipe down canvas does not work yet for example, but it is responsive and has no dial/close dialer delays, can't tell you how many times I had to soft reset because of the tachi dialer)

try it out, you may like it..

cab install

update to phcanvga.exe (which is the loader for the dialer) for 23017+ builds.

edit: most importantly i noticed that this dialer does not make you press send twice to dial a number like tachi would half the time.(my biggest problem with tachi)

I didn't he had posted a working version, so I guess I'll add it to the next kitchen, thanks

That version works very well. I have been able to overlay other keypads onto the dialer successfully. It is very responsive and much better than the Tachi.

Hope you get that in V 4.1.

I'm having the battery problem too. I am checking the fdc now but I have noticed that the data seems to constantly be streaming as opposed to being idle when not in use. I've tested it a little and found that the battery lasts way longer when I manually turn the data off in comm manager.

Re: [ 10-13 ][ v4 ][ 6.5.1 / 6.5 / 6.1 ] Calkulin's Visual HTC Kitchen & ROMs

Hi All:

First, thanks to Calk and everyone in this thread documenting so much info.

Second, I've tried flashing several different roms from this kitchen today (6.5.1, 6.5, 6.1, even Calk's own Diamond rom), but have encountered what is pretty much a deal breaker for me unless someone can help shed some light on how to resolve it....after flashing and restoring my messages and contacts via sktools, my phone sends out random old sms to contacts. I've tried hard resets immediately after flashing via Clear Temp 1234 etc as directed earlier in this thread but the problem persists.

Is there anything I can do about this?

TIA for your help!

You could set your long press end key to turn off data ...
