Re: *UPDATED* [11-12-08] Juicy ROM 3.3 [SYS OS 5.2.19972 Build 19972.3.3] [UC]

So WinRar 3.80 is the one to download from the link above (I'm using XP)?

*Edit: Found which one to use, thanks!

Where do you go to adjust the registry i.e. HKCU\....? Where do I find these files on the phone? Do I need 3rd party software, or is it a simple copy the file into notepad and edit?

You need to use a program such as Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) install on your device and run it. You will see \\plugins click that and you will see three folders one is registry, that is the one you want from there it should be self explanatory.

feel free to use the thanks button

First off, LOVE LOVE LCOE Juicy 3.2 on my Sprint.. so damn fast. Thank Juicy! U da man!

Ok. So I have 5,000 sms texts I have saved over the last months (it used to be more, but a backup I made got lost so now I'm down to the 5.000). Whenever I hard reset the original Sprint build, I would reimport them using PIMBackup. Since it was so many, I would import them, then go into the SMS screen and then just see the "1 conversation selected" field flicker for about an hour as the messages all got threaded. If I went to another screen, then it would screw up and I'd have to redo it.

I tried this now with Juicy 3.2 about 5 times. i even reflashed and reimported. The "1 conversation selected" will flicker for a minute or 2, and then stop. I left it alone for a full night, but the messages aren't all threading. I will go to a message that should have a back and forth conversation and just see my own texts (or if somone just messaged me I will see their new text in there as well... but not all the old ones).

I tried plugging it in, making sure that the SMS screen is not interrupted, etc etc. What am I doing wrong??? How do I fix this?

Thanks in advanced.

EvanWasHere

::Edit::

I forgot to mention. Whenever I go into the SMS view, the whole phone slows down to molasses. So, it's like it's threading... but again, I don't see that flicker of the screen as it threads, and even after waiting 6-10 hours (2-3 times) it isn't threading. On the old Sprint rom it only took an hour or 2. When I leave the SMS view after waiting those hours, it speeds up again.

I was experiencing the same problem every time I flashed.. i had ~2500 messages. I used PowerSMS to export them all to comma separated file then just deleted everything. If I need to check any of them I just import them into excel. Dont know if this is an option for you but really do you need to look back on that many messages?

Telus, Alltel users can you confirm?
I'm about 99% sure this did not work for me under any rom, including original Sprint rom. (I thought it was something that required a subscription.)

I use PIM Backup, nice and simple since I don't really need to back up much besides text messages and the call log.

SPB Backup is not free according to the webpage: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/backup/

EDIT: I know it's a bit off topic, but I would say it's related to backing up... Anyone know what file Opera saves passwords/usernames in so I don't have to retype it everytime I reflash?

I don't know if it ever worked, but with "sprint" with my plan everything works...I can send a video..I just cant use that option to record then send .."MMS"

And i didn't notice until the other guy said something..SO was seeing if anyone else was having the issue.
