Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel - Page 11

Ok here we go. I was trying to help my friend figure out the roaming issue. We noticed this in the QPST program there is a CDMA setting called AOC or Access Overload setting. My value was 5 and on my wife's it is 3. We do not have the roaming icon. On the roaming problem phone it is 0. So I updated my roaming(*228 ) and it reset it to 0. After that I then I had the Roaming icon on. So I restored my phone to my original setting and I do not have this roaming issue. Could it be this?

that is interesting, I will look into this, I will play around late tonight and stuff. I am finishing up a rom for the alltel touch right now. I will see what i can find though.

Update:

My friends Touch Diamond is not flashing Roam! We changed the AOC to a different number and roam mode preference to HDR through QPST.

If I call alltel from my phone can they tell me if I am roaming? What would I say to them? I just don't want to get my bill and have all my calls roaming. I would need a loan to pay it.

to be honest...when I first got it a couple days ago I wasn't really liking this phone that much. I was starting to think I should have just bought another ppc6800. I had a custom ROM unlocked GPS and all kinds of great programs on it. BUT... The more I use the diamond the more I like it. I wish you guys were local I would buy each one of you a beer for all the help you gave me. It would have to be during happy hour, draft beer, and on cheap beer night though because I am in college full time and broke as hell.

I am scared to go messing around with QPST in my phone, I don't want to brick it. I will have to wait on one of you geniuses to write down the step by step diections for me.

well i am in college full time has well so dont feel all that bad. with alltlel to have a smart phone plan you get nationwide free roaming anyways. so you can just argue that if they try and say anything to you. I have been on that for the past month, so i will see on this month bill.

call alltel from another cell phone, they will not be able to activate it if you are on the phone. Also you might have better luck just going into the store and having them do that there. but who knows.

there is not a lot you can do in qpst at this time. mainly because qpst is an older program and has limited suppourt for the diamond.

I think I said something the wrong way. I got my phone activated. Thanks to you guys. It is working great. It just says it is roaming all the time now. I was just curious if I should call to see if the phone id roaming or not. I don't want a surprise at the end of the month. the store here wont even activate an alltel phone that didn't come from them with a contract. They are total ****s.

haha i walk into my alltel store (corporate) and tell them to activate it, it will say sprint or verizon on there. and they ask if it will work. all i tell them is that it will soon. i just need to play with it. haha, it is great when you go there and they just do it.

Hello, i have a sprint diamond that i flashed to alltel. it works fine but the internet does not work. i saw that bencurry had the same problem and fixed it. Could you tell me what i can do to get it to work. I have talked to alltel tech support and they dont know.

Alltel wont help you with sh!t. These guys in here can get you set. Is your phone showing that it is roaming?

##778 go to edit. and enter your MSL code. You should have changed this to 000000. If you have not done this yet, then do this first.

Once you get into the ##778 menus. Go down to Secuirty and enter in xxxxxxxxxx@alltel.net and your password is alltel.

Do this for both of your username and password. Try this and let me know if it worked.
