Re: Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

I might have fixed the roaming issue or why mine is not roaming. I am using the 60613 PRL from Sprint. After updating *228 I do get a Digital Roam with a solid triangle, showing 30033. If I update the PRL from 30033 to 60613 my roam will go away.

Save PRL files to your internal storage of your phone

To update:

##775, put in your MSL (000000), highlight update PRL, menu, edit, browse, find your prl, OK, OK and the phone will reset.

Re: Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

does that also mean you will get roaming charges as it would show you using a sprint tower instead of alltel

Re: Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

also i use the 40038 prl as i think from what i understand it is better for smartphones. juggalo said he could maybe fix it if he could get the pri updater but i do not know how to pull it from the dcd carrier cab or get the file of of my diamond after i run the carrier cab.

Re: Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

just to test it out i switched prls and then called alltel to see if i was being charged roaming and she said yes i was and then switched back and called and asked the same ? and he said i was not so i am pretty sure you will get a huge roaming charge on your bill if you do use this but if you have a plan that does not charge you roaming then i am sure it would be worth using it as it does get rid of the roaming triangle. thank you jd for your help trying to solve this though as i too have not given up. however i am almost sure it will exist until i can flash an updated alltel radio onto my phone.

Just to clarify, 30033 is NOT roaming, but 40038 is? My Diamond updated itself to 30033.

I think when an official Alltel Touch Diamond ROM comes out, that would fix this issue. The roaming issue was fixed on my Mogul and Touch (Vogue) after updating to the official Alltel firmware.

Re: Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

Anyone made progress on the roaming signal? I tried flashing with stock Alltel ROM from here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062 but I still got the roaming signal. Just wondering how progress is coming with this...or have you all got used to the Digital Roaming text and tower?

Re: Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

That stock Alltel ROM is probably a dump, and therefore not complete.
We might just have to wait for an official ROM update. I'm sure there will be one... eventually.

Re: Flash Touch Diamond from Sprint to Alltel

alright guys, i have been working on setting up an Htc touch pro from sprint to alltel and i thought it was hopeless at the beginning. then i stumbled on this forum and was able to get it on the alltel network finally. i used conflippers rom (awesome) and then was the delima of getting the internet to work. i read through this forum and wasnt able to get it to work and then i remembered i had this problem when i activated my verizon treo 650 on alltel. i remembered i had to disable the mobile ip and turn it to simple ip.

so here are some steps to maybe get you internet working.
1. dial ##778# (on the touch pro anyways)
2.edit
3.enter 000000 if it was unlocked correctly.
4. go to the m.ip settings
5. edit the MIP_MODE to simple ip only and that is what has worked for me i hope thios helps.
oh and has anyone fixed the whole always roaming thing. thanks
