Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
I went back to the Telus radio on my Alltel Diamond and while the data speeds are noticeably better the battery life is noticeably not as good...
Sprint radio on my phone = good signal and great battery life, but it has dropped calls and data speeds aren't that great. Telus radio on my phone = better and more consistent signal with faster data, but the battery doesn't last. Last edited by CenFlo; 02-05-2009 at 10:07 AM. |

Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
after reading over 9000 posts in this thread, Ive come to the conclusion that the best radio depends mostly on your location. I live in a big city (Miami) and unfortunatly (wow cant believe i forgot how to write that word. no time to google spell check) i live in an area where I constantly jump from EVDO to 1x, having to force 1x for my battey to last over 6 hours. NOw... I dunno anything at all about radios, but im guesssing if I flash another one, it should be better.
My questions is, has anyone in the MIAMI area tried the radios? and if so, which one is the best for you?

Honestly though , I think this is post 1018 or something, not 9000. And as far as best radio in the Miami area, I assume that's where you live, how about flashing to the different ones, and give us your results, that might help someone else out!!!

Lol, I'm sure he was just exaggerating a bit, but the point stands. I'm curious if anyone is in the Albuquerque, NM market has had any success. My data rate completely bl0ws badly and I'm starting to hate my phone with a passion. I think I was under the mistaken impression that ABQ already had Rev/A active.
I'm running STRAIGHT UP STOCK, no mods, nothing. Would flashing to say a Verizon radio rom give the Rev/A speed or am I just completely SOL?

Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
after trying both the Telus radio and the new Sprint radio, I've gone back to the Sprint radio. Battery life I didn't get to test, but I can easily go a full day on a charge with the Sprint radio, but the biggest deal breaker for me was the YouTube app. I'm using the latest grooverom and whenever I would use the YouTube app that would load and run smooth on the Sprint radio, it would be all choppy and out of sync on the Telus radio. I tried hard resets and reflashes, and it was also the same on the Telus Radio. I know people are saying it depends on location, so does anyone else live in Indianapolis/Marion Indiana?

Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
I went back to the Telus radio after trying the Sprint one for about a week. I thought the Sprint radio might solve my problem of the phone randomly locking up if Flexmail was left on overnight, but it didn't. Also, battery usage increased significantly with Sprint. On the Telus radio, the phone would settle in around 57mA while idle. With the Sprint radio, it never seemed to drop down below 150mA or so. Worst of all, the Sprint radio would drop calls like crazy.
I'm on Bell in the Hamilton/Toronto area. |
