Not trying to be rude, but you could have avoided some stress by investing a few minutes in a little research. I'm a bit surprised with your derision in the use of "geek", given your education level, you must be some kind of "geek" yourself. And you're welcome.

I suggest sticking to the official updates from htc/sprint if you're not willing to spend half and hour sifting through the "crap". This is an enthusiast forum after all...

Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
Well...
Back to topic.... After a day with the new Sprint radio (1.11.00F), I must say, this is a pretty decent radio, at least for me. No heat issues at all, and I had 3 phone calls over 30 minutes, with no issues. Signal is strong, and no issues with missed calls or texts. I actually think this might be a keeper. Another point of interest, this might be me wanting it more, but it seems my data speeds are higher, and pages seem to download faster. I am going to run with this through the week, but right now, for me, this seems like the better radio of this bunch.

Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
I haven't had any problems with text, calls, or data. But my phone does get hotter than with the telus radio. Still haven't been able to test the battery more concisely but it seems to be chugging a long pretty strong. Yesterday I went to the mountains and usually my battery drains real fast if I leave data on (constantly switches from 1x<->evdo) so I turn it off up there. I forgot to yesterday and my battery was still at 30% by 1am when I got back home. Usually it would barely last half of that time. Could've been a fluke, we'll see.

Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
I tried the 1.11 for a few days, got too warm for me. Seemed to bounce between 2 and 3 bars consistently, so now I'm on the 1.04. I hadn't tried it before, but after a day or so I feel confident with it. Always have full bars, data seems as quick as any other, but I usually use OperaMini so YMMV. It doesn't feel as warm as the Sprint radios either. Voice quality appears a little better as well. This has been my experience so far, in SW Portland, OR area if that helps anyone.
