HA! I was actually kidding but there is one there for being embarras*ed!!!!!

Nice! Ok, back on topic. My experience with the VZW radio is:

1. Amp draw while on the phone and transferring data is much lower. Dont have comparison numbers, but its about the same as what others have posted.
2. The phone, as others have said, doesnt get nearly as hot.
3. My download speeds are about the same.
4. When data connection is idol, still get the same amp draw as with sprint radio, between 57-75ma.

All in all with this radio, and Juicy's 2.6 rom, Im having the best battery performance since owning my diamond. If we could just get a 2200mah battery the same size as the stock one, Diamond life would be perfect. Well except for the lack of programmable buttons, and a flash, and a SD slot, and flawless landscape support, and blah, blah blah. J/K. I LOVE THIS PHONE!!
(love the extra emoticons too!!!)

Hey Juggalo... Are you still on the Verizon radio?

If so, what do you think of it so far on Telus?

Re: [UPDATED] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

i flashed back to the sprint radio, and the weather all of a sudden works fine... definite differences in battery life though. i noticed that the data speed from verizon was slightly less responsive, and the battery lasted a lot longer. probably at least 25% more. the heat was also less than the sprint radio. i'm going to probably exchange the diamond for the pro though, so i'm going to put everything back to stock, because ever since the flash to the verizon rom, i'm having problems with the phone not booting after a soft reset, and hard resetting randomly. the align screen at the beginning of a reset isn't what i want to be looking at when i take the phone out of my pocket to text somebody lol

Re: [UPDATED] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

Just updated to the verizon radio, and so far so good! Unlike others here, my weather works flawlessly. I am currently running Mighty's Stable Rom and so far so good. I am tempted to flash Juicy's Rom, although I am very very happy with mighty's.

has anyone had their phone go into a constant vibration state while in suspend since flashing this radio? it has happened to me numerous times.

Re: [UPDATED] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

Yes, bu t its not in suspend. When using my gps, itll just randomly turn off the screen and constantly vib until i pull the battery. I think it has to do with VZW needing a special driver to respond to the challenge-auth portion of VZWs radio. Also, VZW gps doesnt conform to MS spec, sp who know

Re: [UPDATED] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Rom Thread

Yes, it does. It is that lbsdriver i keep speaking of. At first, I thought it was for triangulation with cell towers, but later discovered it was for authenication of gps applications. What happens is, when you go to use gps, the driver looks at the application, and tries to verify that it is allowed to use the gps fuctions with the VZW server. I also think the VZW radio has slightly modified the gps function in the radio, hence the issue. I think without this driver, the challenge-auth step always fails. For me, when using GPS, my phone gots hotter then I have ever felt, so my guess is the auth keeps failing, and the radio keeps demanding it, so it over works either the cpu or gps chip, and overheats and fails.

To sum it up, if your carrier is VZW, and u are using the VZW radio, you need a os that has the lbs driver. If your carrier is VZW, and you are not using the VZW radio, then your OS does not need the LBS driver. If you are not with VZw, then i belive it might not be the best idea to use the VZW radio as having the lbs driver or not will probably cause the auth to fail anyways.

Just my theory.

Also, the Sprint radio with the APM driver seems to be good on battery.
