Re: [Jan 15th New Sprint Radio V1.11.00F] Official CDMA Diamond Radio Thread
I have been running the Telus V1.04.05V radio for about 1 month and I love it. It is MUCH better than the stock Sprint radio 1.00. Tonight I decided to try the new Sprint radio v1.11.00F.
After 20 minutes, my initial reaction is that it runs a few degrees warmer. Also, I do notice that the Telus radio seems to be more stable. It seems to display the same number of bars all of the time if I leave it stationary on my desk. However, in the exact same spot on my desk, the Sprint radio fluctuates down 1 to 2 bars, then up 1 to 2 bars. When it's up, it's higher than the Telus radio and when it's down 2 bars it's lower. I guess that means on average the Sprint radio is about the same but it's more sensitive to signal strength changes than the Telus radio.
I will post an update in about a week. I'm in the San Fernando Valley just North of downtown Los Angeles, CA.
UPDATE:
Second full day using Sprint 1.11.00F: It appears that when using PUSH email all day, the Sprint radio uses slightly less power. I had more battery left after the exact same time period. [I will post exact times and battery levels at the end of my first week of testing]. HOWEVER, I did use the phone to make 1 hour worth of calls while plugged into an outlet and WOW did it get warm. I have been using the Telus radio for some time and I forgot how hot this phone could get. This alone may push me back to the Telus radio as this heat is not good for the long-term life of the phone. The circuit board will expand and contract more with this excessive heat causing it to fail eventually.
