Re: * UPDATED * JUICY ROM 2.6 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

I am unable to get Snap2Face to work with the newest 2.6 rom. It has worked with every prior version. I think it may be related to the certificate it installs at the end of the install? SNap2Face starts and then goes into a constant loop saying it is unable to communicate with facebook, forcing me to soft reset.

Yeah, I second that... the program locks up, and loops in an error, only a soft reset will fix it...

Re: * UPDATED * JUICY ROM 2.6 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

i have 2.5 running excellent and was about to upgrade to 2.6 but after reading all the bugs it has, i'm sticking with 2.5. i really appreciate all teh work from juicy, but just wondering, what could be the reason that could have brought all this bugs.

I am having issues, but they have all been mentioned here so far. I'm just corroborating.

read the instructions on the screen (it basically says push volume up to hard reset, any other button to cancel)

9) you are done!
these instructions worked for me, though i'm not sure why the other methods didn't. as i mentioned before, i just swapped for a new diamond right before upgrading to 2.6 so maybe that is a reason. (on my old diamond, i did several hard resets prior to turning in the phone so as to make sure my data and tweaks were cleared from the device).

i wonder if there might be something different hardware-wise that makes the hard reset not work as it did. also, i flashed to the verizon radio just before flashing juicy's 2.6 rom. too many new things going on to pinpoint exactly what is going wrong!

too bad about all the bugs, though to be fair...there were tons of changes made to the rom at the same time so it was definitely ambitious! i do see a great speed improvement (though 2.5 was super fast compared to older versions) and opera seems much more stable for me. uc is a great addition to the rom too. also, (unrelated...i know) the verizon radio is much better than stock sprint. phone still gets warm, but not even close to hot and battery life has been outstanding (could also be attributed to juicy's tweaks).

bugs, yes...but we all know you'll iron everything out in due time. thanks again for all the time and effort you put into this stuff, juicy!

Re: * UPDATED * JUICY ROM 2.6 [Full CE OS 5.2.20755][TELUS][Sprint]

I upgraded to 2.6 yesterday. The new ROM certainly is smoother and more responsive but I did have a few problems:

1- Screen rotation problems throughout. I was using Gyrator to handle the rotation and I haven't taken the time yet to figure out if the problem is Gyrator or the new ROM.

2- I just could not flash 2.6 from my computer, it would die at anywhere from 17% to 67% complete and left me stuck in the bootloader. I finally had to flash back to 2.5, copy the 2.6 image to the internal storage and flash from there.

So far everything else seems good, thanks for the work Juicy.

Thanks for a great ROM Juicy, the issues noted here are non-issues for me and my data connection problems in 2.5 were addressed in 2.6 so I am good (at least for the next 2 weeks while you are working on 2.7)

I just did 3 Hard Resets while running Juicy's ROM. Just because you guys don't do it right... does not mean it doesn't work.
POWER + VOLDWN + ENTER + RESET DOES WORK.

This is not a bug, nor is it a problem that needs fixing. This has been discussed many times before, these applications are purposefully removed. If you think you're "affected" you can install them yourself, or choose a different ROM.

Seeing as the XIP was released the night before, this is most likely the case, it's also possible that it's a change in the SYS which could be fixed much easier. For now, deal with it.

Once again, can't find complete details on what people mean by "sleep" and if in a previous rom this was prevented or what, but a fix for it can be found in the previous link in post #1105
Again, not a bug. The light sensor is finally being used properly. This is the main feature of the light sensor (beside the speaker) that it will turn off the touch screen when close to your ear. You can test it by making a call and leaving the phone in front of you, it won't turn the screen off. Cover the sensor (sometimes the top lets in light too) and it'll turn off within a few seconds.

They are store there for hard resets (and cannot be removed / deleted, only copied) and the photos tab only shows photos from "internal storage>my documents>my pictures" (at least that is the case from my very limited experience). If you want the stock photos, merely copy and paste them from the windows folder in the main storage to my pictures within the internal storage.
On Juicy's Telus ROM this works fine. It took a few seconds, but all the photos are there.

If people would actually take the time to find out why things are doing what they're doing, and not just relying on the next update for a small group of people to fix everything, you might not look like you don't know what you're talking about. If you find an error, report it, but then instead of complaining, why not try to help solve the issue, or even search to find that it's not an issue at all?

Just one kitchen builder's $0.02.
